Review of HMV

17 Apr 08, 07:29

Music to my ears 4*

Spread across 3 floors, HMV usually has what I want.

They have a massive selection of current CD's, DVD, and games along with a huge selection of older CD's & DVD's.

The store always seems very busy, but the staff are helpful and will always try and help you find what you need instore or they will order it if they can

Review of Etap Hotel Birmingham Centre

17 Apr 08, 06:46

Very Cheap & Cheerful 5*

Etap hotels are brilliant for value - around £39 per night

Although the rooms are very basic, they sleep 3 people (1 double & 1 single bed), the shower cubical is seperate to the toilet.

The beds are fairly comfy and the rooms all have TV's.

Although the rooms do lack a kettle; hot & cold drinks are availible from the reception area for a small fee.

This Etap is located about 15 minutes walk from the Bullring and about 7 minutes from Hurst Street.

The staff here are always helpful.

If you plan a weekend trip to Birmingham and plan to stay at the Etap you need to book well in advance as it is alway full at weekends.

Review of Hotel Ibis Birmingham New Street

17 Apr 08, 06:35

Basic but central 3*

With hotels you get what you pay for, and this hotel is no exception.

Rooms are basic but comfy and clean, the bathrooms are tiny they have a toilet and a small shower cubical.

The rooms can be noisy, especially those that face the road at the front.

Reception is large and airy, the staff are generally helpful and at weekends they have a security guard on the door overnight.

Location wise it's great for shopping and partying, the bull ring is about 3 minutes walk and Hurst Street is less than a minute away.

There is a small NCP car park across the road and Birmingham New Street is just a few minutes walk.

Review of Friendly Society

Intimate Bar 5*

This lovely little bar is tucked away on a side street in Soho, it has a very intimate environment which makes it great fun.

The staff are great and the music is varied.

Always worth a visit when in London :-)

Review of Welcombe Stores

CON-veinience 2*

a small local convinience store in Park North, doesnt have a great selection of products, its good for milk, news papers and basic food like beans.

Usually there are a load of local 'chavs' hanging around outside who normally ask the real adults to buy their alcohol for them.

It's not bad during the day, but avoid in the evenings or after dark.

Review of Empire

Take your own snacks 3*

Not a bad place in general, the staff are pretty much typical of most cinema's.

Trips to the cinema seem to get more and more expensive everytime I go, last time was £7.50 just for the film.

Snack are really expensive, its probably better to try and take your own popcorn from a supermarket or somewhere unless you are rich

Review of Pizza Palace

16 Apr 08, 07:15

Pizza Perfect 3*

This is a great place to get food from when drunk or sober, the pizza's are always loaded with cheese and they are generous with their toppings.

Sometimes it can be daunting going in here on a Friday or Saturday night with all the drunk people, but generally its not to bad.

I always find that Pizza is much better than a Kebab after a night out and this is certainly the best place for drunken pizza.

Review of Asda Superstores

16 Apr 08, 07:07

Thats Asda Price 4*

One of the biggest Asda stores I have seen, massive selection of clothing and electrical products.

Asda are really good for those on tight budgets. Their own range of ready meals are fairly cheap, but incredibly tasty.

The only gripe I have is that whenever I do go to Asda there are always queues at the checkouts

Review of K A M Auto Services

16 Apr 08, 06:47

Great Service 5*

I used KAM when I needed to get my streering rack replaced.

When dropped my car off to them the lady on reception asked me how I was going to get back home, I was planning on walking but she offered to give me a lift as it was a cold morning.

The done the work in about 2 hours as I needed to have the car back for work by midday.

When I collected my car it was clean and tidy with no mess left inside.

Review of Autoglass

16 Apr 08, 06:39

Fix it fast 5*

I used Autoglass to get a chip in my windscreen repaired.

I booked it online, they arrived in the agreed time period, the guy explained everything that he was doing as he was doing it, he then explained that if I get another chip in the same sort of area that they wouldnt be able to repair it.

The guy then took the relavant details for my insurance and they then took care of everything with the insurance company
