The Boat 
This little pub is one of those places you wouldn't really find unless you knew it was there... Tucked away behind the canals near Minworth/Water Orton, The Boat is a quaint old pub serving old ales and lovely food which deserves a bit of a mention. There's plenty of food available- though I prefer the roast dinners that are on offer on Sundays- and all is made fresh on the premises by an experienced chef. The food is standard pub fare, but it's always been very good, hot and pretty cheap by most standards. Beers are plentiful here, and the friendly bar staff and land lady ensure your glass is full as much as they can! You can also go outside to the canalside beer garden in the summer and watch the world go by, which is pretty mad, given you're basically in the middle of Birmingham! Highly recommended for a quiet drink or meal, and especially good in the summer.
