Kinnaree Thai Restaurant 
I'm a massive fan of Thai cuisine, and when this place opened up I was surprised at how nice it was, having had some rather unpleasant experiences in so called Thai restaurants in Birmingham before. Kinnaree is situated in the Mailbox, so is quite central to the city centre, and pretty easy to get to (wheelchair access is okay but not great). The food here is delicious- fresh, hot and unpretentious. It's reasonably priced (around £8 for a main) and the service is always with a smile, which is pretty refreshing in a world of miserable sods! One problem I had when I was there is it was freezing- I have no idea why, I think the air con may have been on the blink, but the staff couldn't work out why either, so I'd recommend taking a jumper if it's a chilly day! Other than that, it was fantastic- a highly enjoyable place for either a nice evening meal or a quick lunchtime bite!
