I love taking the kids, who are 7 and 2 to the zoo. It never fails to delight them and watching their faces light up at all the animals is priceless. It's got so many things to do and see, the guides are really friendly, the place is soooo clean and the kids can run around without the fear and stress of anyone thinking that they're not behaving! It's great value for money because you only have to pay the entrance fee if you take a picnic with you and you can spend the whole day there and not get bored! Wonderful!

The zoo never sits on its laurels. Plenty to see animals to see, large gardens to walk around. Always have different events going on. So we'll be back

Chester Zoo was a wonderful day out, the zoo has so much space, it really was amazing. There were loads of different animals to see and they were all very happy in their massive pens. This is a great place to go as a couple or as a family.

I have been to Chester Zoo several times and have never been disappointed. It is a bit on the expensive side if you are going on a Family visit but Family passes are available and you can spend the whole day there. Monkey Island is very entertaining and the Bat Cave is scary for people like me who are afraid they will fly at you, but they never do, so be brave and go into the darkness. Who can get tired of watching elephants, I know I can't, especially the baby ones. Make sure you know when it is feeding time for the penguins as they put on a real show. You can take the mono-rail around the zoo too but there are plenty of places to stop and rest as you walk around the zoo. The gardens are worth a visit in their own right too.

Chester Zoo is massive. Not just in terms of size, but in the range of animals. It really does cover almost all the bases to the extent it's easier to think of animals it doesn't have, rather than remember all the ones it does. (for the record, the only noticable omissions are it's lack of Bears and Gorillas) The animals it does have are clearly well looked after and enjoy spacious areas to live in. Highlights include the fascinating Chimpanzee house, the Jaguars, elephants and the kiddie favourites, the penguins. It's got it all. There's even a pub. You can even get married there!
It all makes for a good (if not tiring) day out for animal lovers of all ages. Quite pricey though, but year passes are available.
