We always stop in here when cycling down the river from Exeter.
They have a barbecue which is open now so you can stop off and grab a burger and something to drink.
It is kid friendly with swings etc for them to play on. They also have a large outdoor seating area - lots of grass to play on and lots of seating.

Lovely local pub situated on the canal just outside Exeter city centre. You can park there or you can walk, cylce or canoe from the quay (it's approx 1.5 - 2 miles from the canal basin) Cycles and canoes are available to hire from Paddles and Saddles on the quay for a reasonable price. There is also a water taxi that rns in the daylight hours every hour or so. Plently of outside seating making for a great lazy Sunday afternoon or any evening.

The Double Locks pub is situated right next to the banks of the River Exe and is a awesome place to spend a summers afternoon. Its a bit out of the way, but you can either enjoy a pleasant walk from the quay along the river to Double Locks, or as I did hire a canoe and row there (or if you re feeling lazy its accesible via car). The pub is small and quaint and sells a really good selction of locally brewed ales and ciders. So if you know your stuff then its a good choice, or if you dont the staff are happy to reccommend you something. They also serve hot food, which is reasonably priced and of a good standard. There is a decking area outside with plenty of tables and chairs that couldnt be closer to the river. Theres also a large open space and an area for children to play on swings and climbing frames. This is such a nice pub and an ideal place to bring the whole family
