Great healthy food, great price

5*

Mickelle R. says:

I love this place. The food is fresh, tasty and good for you. What more could you want? They've obviously been there for years and are well established. The best part about it is it's great value for money. That said it's slightly more expensive to sit down and have lunch but the take away boxes are great value. Well worth a visit. Their falafels are to die for!

Deli-licious

4*

Ashley T. says:

The food here is lovely, a large range which is different to anything else on offer in the local area.

Its fresh and prepared infront of you and you can the flavours are fantastic.

my only gripe is with the portion sizes. Theyre just on the small side. I sometimes go with two meals but that makes it a little pricey.

But defo worth a punt!

Pitta and salad for £3 - tasty!

4*

Ali J. says:

This small salad bar with Middle East, Greek and Italian origins (apparently) - is amazing value and very convenient for Leicester Square and Charing Cross road area for a quick bite to eat. Huge bowls of delicious and colourful salads to fill pitaswith meat or vegetarian options too. Salad selection costs three pounds which you choose yourself from an enticing deli counter. The staff are friendly and greet you well if you are a regular, and the place is full of noisy, happy people.

Only problems is the narrow entrance which is the only place wehre you can choose your feast and is a bit of a pain.

All in all though Gaby's is good.

Deli tastic

5*

Alan S. says:

This place has been around for years so they must be doing something right.

They're doing loads right. It isn't fine dining but it does offer healthy (ish) tasty food that doesn't cost too much.

The 5 salads in a box is a winner. They vary the salads each day and there are probably at least 30 to choose from. Examples include Cous Cous, Spinach and chickpeas, peppers stuffed with cream cheese, beetroot, spicy potatoes, carrots. I tend to ask for an extra pitta bread that makes it even more filling and still get change from £4

The meatballs, salt beef sandwich and fritters in pitta aren't healthy but are exceptionally good. The Falafel is as good as that you'd find on Edgware Road!!

They also have a celeb following, those who tread the boards of the Garrcik pop in for a picture with Gaby and sample his award winning falafel and pitta.

Amaaaazing!

4*

Rachael B. says:

Gaby's is wonderful, its my place of choice to get take away lunch. My favourite dishes are each only 3.50 and fill you up a treat...the falafel in pitta is delicious and the '5 salads' are pretty healthy, a genius invention whereby you choose a large spoonful of 5 different foods like lentils, green salad, aubergines, spinach and chick peas...there are so many to choose from. They occasionally give you an extra falafel ball in your packet. And they are always smiling...can't big them up enough.

Simple, tasty and old school

4*

Myles A. says:

This little cafe doesn't look promising from the street, and even once inside looks dingy - a formica heaven.

That said the food, especially the salad boxes, felafal, humous and salt beef and reliably tasty and keep pulling me back in.

Don't expect fine dining but if you want to add another option to spice up your lunch time diet then check it out - i go at least twice a week and have to deliberately walk in the other direction on the other days to stop myself going more!

An institution

4*

Ash M. says:

Around Leicester Square you are often hard pushed to find anywhere that isn't serving crappy fast food or mass produced junk... luckily Gaby's Deli defies all your preconceptions... Located slap bang on the border of Leicester Square, they really do serve the best salt beef bagels (you'll find the queue out the door on Mondays... what is it with salt beef Mondays ?!), and a fantastic array of salads which you can cram into a box for just a few quid.

The only reason i've marked it down to a four is that eating in can sometimes be quite pricey, but for takeaways, you can't go wrong.

Robin P. says:

you gotta go..... saltbeef bagels, a fantastic array of salads like beetroot, butter beans etc etc. It even has two bickering old proprietors a bit like Lina Stores......

character and great food!
