Gunnies is an excellent pub, but what makes it stand our amoungst the crowd is the enormous beer garden! With friendly and helpful staff. Not too crowded on the Sat lunch-time when we visited, and the food came out really quick too. Happliy spent the best part of our Saturday there. If you're looking for a chilled atmosphere with reasonably priced drinks and food - definitely give it a go. The garden also has actual grass - rather than a concrete jungle so you can fool yourself that you're in a pub in the country rather than on the Bristol Road! Have to disagree about the car park - that too is really huge (50+ spaces), and only about half full when we visited - can only think that the last reviewee expects a multi-story rather than a more than adequate car park.

This is the yellow pub just down from Birmingham University on the Bristol Road. It's a great student pub with discount drinks (with a special student card) but it is open to non students as well but prepare to feel a little old if you're not at Uni ! It's a lively atmosphere with good music on the jukebox and a number of games to play too.

This is a bar that located right next to the university of birmingham, which means that its normally filled with students. However, it always has a very lively atmosphere and they show football games from different leagues on a huge screen. The only thing that I do not like about the place is that it has a rather small car park and since its located on the the busy bristol road, its hard to find parking when the car park is full.

Gunnies is a good student pub with reasonable pricing on all drinks. The night I went was pre-drinks before going onto the club, Snobs on a Wednesday but it was also a themed night at the pub itself. This resulted in it being quite busy and took a while to get served. That said, it wasn't too busy to hear to talk to friends and we even got in a game of snooker. Gunnies is part of the yellow card scheme so you can get a discount on your drinks too.
