Gymbox Covent Garden

4*

Ashley B. says:

I have recently joinned this gym and can say so far it's been great! It looks amazing inside too! There are plenty of machines and I have never had a moment where I can't get on something because someone else is already using it. I am yet to try out any of the classes but they all look amazing and plenty of them! I have heard alot about the trouble canceling memebership but I haven't had to experience that yet, I will look forward too it. The VPT's are also friendly and the front desk are always chirpy when you walk in (Probably because we pay for them to be there!) But yeah.. it's good!

Nice gym - shame about the management

1*

Peter E. says:

Gymbox is a nice enough gym - until you come to cancel. They make it very difficult to cancel - asking you to come in person despite the contract stating written notice - and continued to take my money claiming not to have received the second of my written notices.

Even when this all came to light, they continued to claim that further membership fees were due and ignored all of my letters, instead sending standard debt letters.

I would not recommend these guys to anyone.

Great Gym

4*

Claire R. says:

The classes are the best thing about this gym with instructors that really know what they are doing and can get the best out of you. I love the boxing ring which i think is a bit odd, who uses it? You certainly will get fit here as the members look serious and toned and inspire you when you're in a cant be bothered mood.

Cash Grab!!

1*

Dion R. says:

Gym is fine, until you want to cancel you membership - then BEWARE.

I paid the additional month even though I didn't use the gym for about 6 weeks (62 GBP per month) - BUT THEY KEPT CHARGING. Even after I cancelled the Direct Debit - THEY KEPT CHARGING MANUALLY USING MY CARD DETAILS. I cancelled my card to avoid future charges.

Due to my work I move around London and would have joined again - BUT NOT NOW. I’ve never been to a gym before where there is a notice period for cancelling membership. It’s just a cash grab.

Gymbox Convert...

4*

Danielle T. says:

I have been a member of this gym for a year now, and I've enjoyed it thoroughly! I haven't been able to say that about many gyms I've been to, but with Gymbox it actually annoys me if I can't go at lunch! The classes are great fun, and are on at good times too. The instructors are really friendly, helpful and know their stuff! I don't feel intimidated there, and can always get on the machines at lunch time.

Some people don't like the look and feel of it, it's quite industrial looking, but I think i t's really funky and enjoy the environment to workout in. Would thoroughly recommend, even though it's quite expensive, I've never been to the gym so much and so feel I get my money's worth!

Bit too simplistic

3*

Steve G. says:

Plently of classes take place within this gym, i have joined in with a few. the gym instructors are great advisors and give powerful tips on how to improve whatever your working on. The boxing ring is great, not that its of any use to me, i think it should be located in a seperate room.

Gymbox

4*

Pete R. says:

I have been to most of the large gym chains and whilst Gymbox is not the most luxurious I think it’s the best for “serious(ish)” gym users.

In addition to the full size boxing ring there is all the standard equipment you would expect as well as three studios for the full range of classes (spinning, kick boxing, circuits, yoga, fight club etc). The free weight selection is huge compared to the large chains and at certain times they have a DJ playing which adds to the atmosphere. It can be busy at peak times but then what London based gym isn’t? Morning, lunch, weekend and late in the week are the best times to go.

Instructors are always on hand for advice and everyone is friendly so newbies don’t need to feel intimidated. Overall, it’s not the most luxurious but it’s great for a varied workout.
