Deceptive from the outside, this pub hides one of the best beer gardens in Hove. It's quite small on the inside, with lots of little alcoves but you can generally find a seat. The food they offer is of a good standard and they do PROPER chips! The best part is the garden though, it's a lovely place to while away a sunny afternoon. One of my faves.

This is quite a quaint little pub in the centre of Hove. It has lots of character, and has lots of nooks and crannies so that it can be quite small and intimate. It has a great garden, which is quite a pull in the summer

I must say, the inside of this pub is really nothing to speak of, and all the times I've been to Hove Place, has been very quiet.
The garden, however, is lovely... it's just gorgeous sitting outside in the summer. If you find yourself a table, hang on to it.
I'm an Orange customer, and can't get a signal here... which winds me RIGHT UP!

I've only been in this pub once and it was pretty quiet, although I think it's because we'd just missed the Sunday rush. It's a wonderful little building on First Avenue and they have a gorgeous garden for the green fingered amongst us! Probably great in the Summer.

This pub looks like nothing special from the road... But the reason for going to is the Italian walled garden -which is glorious. I'd imagine if you're a smoker it's a joy to find such a nice area with heaters where you can slowly kill yourself. The inside isn't up to much.

This is my local...and a damn fine one it is too. You feel a bit like you're going into some underground carvern as you take the steps down into the pub but it's not like that at all inside. It's got three 'sections' to it...the middle bit is the busier bar area where people tend to stand in groups to do their drinking. The other two areas are cosier with plenty of tables and chairs.
Hove Place is at its best when the sun is out though...the garden is really gorgeous with tons of seating and umbrellas and little heated areas for the smokers. I've only ever eaten dessert there...I think it was some kind of gooey chocolate brownie and I wasn't disappointed. I really must try the rest of the food someday...
Oh and one more thing...they were very kind to me when I left without paying once. They did have my card behind the bar but found the whole thing amusing nonetheless!

So many pubs around Hove but so few with a nice beer garden, let alone an 'Italian' beer garden whatever that is! This is definitely a great place to go on a sunny day.
From the outside it looks fairly inconspicuous but there is a lot of room inside when you don't fancy sitting outside, prices aren't too bad either, the same as other places nearby but it is the garden which makes this place stand out from the rest
