Good Roast

4*

Lizzie G. says:

Mmmm.. okay I’m a little biased here as a friend of mine is the manager but generally as roasts go this is one of the best in the area. It's great for a hang over and the comfy sofas make you feel all at home.

This is a lovely place that has a lot of feeling in it. There is a little outside shaded area where you can go when it’s a bit warmer. But even if that area is full the large windows open up and let the outside in. This isn't the cheapest pub in the world, but for a good meal out I think it’s worth it.

Smooth

4*

Nick C. says:

In my earlier days of going out in Angel I used to avoid Keston but after a good couple of years of going there I have decided to acknowledge my previous folly. Smooth decor on the inside, smart generally no-attitude clientel and the DJs do hit out some wicked alternative beats, sometimes electro sometimes some old-school hip-hop. The beer's pretty reasonable too. The only gripes I have is that at times the bouncers love to orchestrate a needless queue when the glass exterior usually betrays the lack of any real congestion inside, and that once inside you can get a few types that are a little pretentious. Nevertheless, it is one of the more higher-end venues in Angel, a nice place to either chill on a Sunday afternoon or properly get on it on a Saturday night. Just get there early!

cool and cosy

4*

Anita S. says:

The modern decor in the bar is sharp and bold at the same time being cosy and captivating. Ive dined here for lunch and the food was exceptionally tasty and value for money. The drinks are great. Not forgetting the music which attracts a young audience however a mature crowd which enjoy and seem to have a great time.

Cosy and quirky

4*

Nat R. says:

I've only been here once, but I really liked it. The decor is an intriguing mixture of modern and quaint, blocky cosy chairs and patches of bare wall mingled with giant floral lampshades and a scatter of farmhouse plates on wood pannelling. The crowd is young but relaxed and not rowdy, and the drinks are not too expensive, considering the location. There seemed to be some good deals on cocktails in the early evening, but alas we arrived too late. I would definitely recommend at least a couple of drinks have if you are planning a night out in Angel.

Feels like beeing a dictator

4*

Pierre B. says:

I've been there a couple times when i was in london and it was always a pleasure. Great mash potatoes. The atmosphere is really cool, especially on the first floor. It feels like beeing in the private lounge of a dictator in Cuba.

Cosy bar/pub

4*

Ashley F. says:

Keston Lodge is a bar that, in my opinion, is ideal for wishing away a long Sunday afternoon; the music is relaxed, the food surprisingly good and the big leather sofas make it hard to get up and leave! At the weekend Keston Lodge is fun, attracting a young but unpretentious crowd. DJs play disco, electro and crowd pleasers which gets everyone dancing. Keston Lodge has also taken advantage of the newly relaxed licensing laws, opening late at weekends - till 3am I believe.

Bar Fly

4*

Caitlin F. says:

I like Keston Lodge, retro interiors, dark wood everywhere and always a great soundtrack on the go. Gets busy and is very dark so if you are meeting people here where something distinctive. Maybe flourescent? Much more fun than lots of the mangey pubs in the area.
