Live Recording Scouting For Girls and The Feeling

5*

Karen L. says:

I won 2 tickets on myspace to see The Feeling and Scouting For Girls perform live to be televised by channel 4.

It was excellent the venue was very cosy and we watched from the balcony, we had a really good view.

I would definately go here again and it was a really good experience.

Naff Aucoustics

2*

Lizzie G. says:

This place use to be the hip cool kids hang out but now it has gone a little stale and I have to say that now the novelty has worn off something as important as the sound of the bands playing has mad itself very clear. It sounds naff. Don't know if it was just the night I went there but something definately wasn't right. Come on KOKO, sort yourslef out. you use to be great, I'm sure you could do it again.

kookoo pricing!

3*

Lottie J. says:

The venue is beautiful and has a lot of character. Personally I have never been to this on a club night, only at gigs but I quite like it. One needs to be careful when walking up and down the stairs as it tends to be a very dimmed lighting. Get the drinks down you at a nother place before you go here as the pricing is massively OTT!

OK, but poor stage views

2*

Ash M. says:

The building is great, the decor plush and the sound good too... but what lets Koko down is the appaling views of the stage for live acts. Unless you are right on the ground and near the front, or right at the front of the balcony, you need to be at least 6ft tall to get a view. Any shorter, and you'll need to get there early and head to the front of the stage. Either that or cling to one of the winding stairwells, and deal with people pushing past you constantly.

Fab for a saturday night

5*

Jojo H. says:

This building was originally known as the camden theatre, since 2004 it is now renamed as koko. This is one of london's hottest clubs, the venue is enormous with a capacity for around 1,500. the best night to go here would be on a saturday its totally kicking. The surroundings inside are beautiful and artistic also very red. Also you would have to buy tickets in advance to garantee you a place for big live concerts which take palce in here.

Fancy Venue

4*

David M. says:

This is an impressive venue inside - I saw Explosions in the Sky here. There are multiple levels and several bars. A decent place to see bands.

Really Nice Venue with Good Club Nights

4*

David L. says:

Formerly the Camden Palais, it went through a refurb in 2005 and thanks to that it looks hundred times better. It looks like a really grand Victorian theatre inside which really gives it some character that most club venues don't have. Fridays is Club NME and is extremely busy so get there before 10.30. Saturdays varies but the guilty pleasure night is a regular night playing lots of dance music. Definitely worth going to, but which night to go on depends on what music you like but you should have a good time.

Live music venue

4*

Ashley F. says:

Koko is a relatively new live music venue, but is proving to be exceptionally popluar. If you've into live music it's well worth checking out the monthly listings. The venue is very large, and is more of a club than just a gig venue.
