Holloway Road

Talia K. says:
This Odeon is in a gorgeous old building on Holloway Road. It's a cinema so you know what to expect - however I've found that the staff are a bit funny here. Maybe a bit too defensive trying to protect themselves from scallies. For instance they wouldn't let me wait inside the building for my friend (who had our tickets) because I didn't have a tickets. Never mind the screen - it was the building!!

Lived in Holloway all my life and can remember going to see Transformers The Movie (1986) in there! As I've got older I've learned to really appreciate this cinema. Quite an iconic and unmissable structure for the local area, a classic, traditional building on the outside, with 9 screens on the inside. Given how pokey other inner-city cinemas can be, we're heading into multiplex territory here. For the size and choice (and in some screens, quality) it really does urinate on many Warner Villages/Vue cinemas I've been to. For a cheaper price I have always had a West-End cinema on my doorstep and for that I am thankful.

Agree with Adam G, the place does what it says on the tin, shows a wide variety of films on decent sized screens. It's well worth 3 stars in my book

Despite its beautiful facade, this screens at this huge Odeon complex are in dire need of refurbishment.
Every screen I have been to at this cinema has had dirty, sweaty, sticky seats which always leave you wondering what the place would look like when they put the lights up.

This cinema is in an impressive building, which I believe once upon a time was the entrance to a private estate in Tufnell Park. Anyway, this cinema shows all the latest big movies, and sells the usual popcorn and nachos, which is often the only reason I go.

The Odeon on Holloway Road is a weird place to visit. Used for the recent o2 adverts, this Cinema is an old building and should be beautiful. From the inside it is too. The irony is that when o2 made the advert, rather than actually making the place look good in reality, they simply changed it graphically on screen. It's a simple sign of where businesses will cut corners to save a few pounds. Inside the cinema, it does actually look just as good as the adverts make the outside look. Well laid out, with a decent enough bar, and a wide selection of films, it's an enjoyable place to visit, even if overly expensive. Worth a trip.
