This is a real old-fashioned working men's pub! It looks really tiny from the outside but when you go in, it just seems to go on forever and it has an upstairs too! Its really cheap in here, nothing fancy just what you would expect from a traditional pub but all the same, the staff are really nice and sometimes its good to be able to go somewhere fairly quiet for a chat. BEWARE.......if you want the toilets, they are down a zillion flights of stairs and it seems like you are walking forever to get to them! Its all part of the Old Monkey Experience!

Great Football Atmosphere Here

The Old Monkey has an interesting mix of people socializing there especially on a weekend although I found the best time to go was when the football was one. Generally most pubs in the center are man city pubs rather than united pubs and the Old Monkey was no exception. When I went to watch the city game they won and the atmosphere was electric afterwards. The beer is cheap which can only add to the fun that can be had here.
