Portslade

David M. says:
What can I say that hasn't been said before? As cheap as chips? Spotlessly clean? Big sandwich and roll fillings, served by lovely ladies with equally big smiles? You only have to see the customers who use this sandwich bar on a regular basis to know that this is one of the best in Brighton & Hove. And being Olivers, may I ask for another portion again and again!...

What a great sandwich shop, the staff are always lovely and friendly and they get to know your order after a while!!! It is much better than heading up to tesco for a pre packaged sandwich.

Olivers do decent sandwiches, they have all the fillings you would expect, they have crisps, cold drinks and even cakes.
My advice however is to ignore all of the above and go straight for the hot sausage roll, for this pastry laden piece of magic is the very reason the lyrics " yummy yummy yummy I got love in my tummy" were written.
If you do one thing before you die go to Olivers in portslade and eat as many of these as you can before your stomach explodes all over station road, it really would be the best way to go.

This is the best sandwhich shop, the staff are amazing and very friendly, they remember everyone and the banter is pretty good! And the chicken mayo is beyond superb, they must have a secret recipe! Basically everything about this place is great, if you havent been there yet, shame on you!

Handy for work, this is my sandwich shop of choice in Portslade.
They always do lasagne on a Thursday, but you have to get in quick because it usually sells out in the first round of lunch breaks (12 -1).
They do a good choice of sandwiches, savoury pastries and jacket potatoes. Staff are very friendly and always up for a good gossip!

Olivers is what you'd expect from a sandwich shop. There's a wide choice of fillings for sandwiches and Jacket Potatoes, plus daily specials. Not every filling is delicious but it's all fresh and served with a smile and a chat from the lovely Oliver's Ladies. Worth a try.

Small sandwich bar and cafe. The ladies behind the counter are very friendly and chatty. The food is okay, fine for a quick lunchtime snack but not when you are in a hurry as the service can be slow.

I don't like this place - it is not for those who have taste shall we say. Rubbish bread and even worse fillings - perhaps a microwaved jacket potato? nice and hard in the middle - think I'll give this one a miss.

It's always super friendly service in here. The girls are always bright and cheery. Sausage rolls are always a winner, and if you fancy stopping to eat your lunch there's a nice little counter you can perch by and watch the people of Portslade passing by.

When im working i pop over to Olivers to get my lunch, due to being allergic to certain foods they cater for my needs and make sure they handle my Sanwich with care. Resonable amount to pay as well. As it is popular some times you may have to wait for a couple of minutes.
