Best pub in Cardiff for atmosphere and an excellent place for eating, drinking and having a good time.
From great pub quizzes to fun boardgames, this is a comfortable pub with a cosy feeling.
With it's central location (close to Queen Street station) it's a fab place to chill out and relax.

Fight for a seat outside in the summer and just chillax. You get a bit of a mix of students, young professionals and nearby workers here so it's a bit lively! If you can get hold of a board game and a table then make sure you get settled for the evening!

This pub is fab fun - they have boardgames you can borrow and play over a pint and a generous sized beer garden too! The food ain't bad either - yummy chips!

This is my favourite Cardiff pub, tucked away but still very findable, can get incredibly busy on a weekend night being one of the only good places to go in Cardiff these days.
The crowd is always really friendly, the bar staff are fantastic and the beer is Welsh and cheap.
There is a rear courtyard which is wicked to sit out in on a nice afternoon with some of their lovely food.
I go back everytime I go back.

This is a great little booozer and really cheap. Nice and close to the city centre but not too close if you want to avoid it. Although it appears to be aimed at students the clientele is very varied. The food is pretty good and also nice and cheap. There is a large beer garden to the rear of the pub and a great jukebox

cheap and nice to have a good few beers in, nice food for a good price. The juke box is great and the saw dust pub vibe. close to the city without the townies in tow!

Cheap but cheerful, with a selection of beers and bottles of wine for you and your peers, you wont leave broke and at the prices you wont choke, cause this pub is a blast and through the night you will last. Cause a tenner goes further in the old school taverner and with a juke box to please all you’ll all have a ball. So get ya self down to the pen and wig cause this pub your all gonna dig.

Cheap and cheerful, the P&W is tucked away just on the outskirts of town, very mixed crowd but it seems to work. Great beer garden, good pub to start a night out with or to stay all night. Gets pretty rammed on weekends or when the students are home.

This is a bloody great place - a fantastic all-rounder! The Pen & Wig is pretty central and attracts a varied clientelle - from solicitors to students. The booze is cheap, the pub grub a decent quality and the atmosphere nice and relaxed, meaning you'd look at home in either heels or trainers. There's a fab variety of games available too. The USP for me is defintely the large garden at the back of the pub - lots of seating, heated areas, and a great place to sit and sip a long cold cider in the summer!

A nice pub which was originally a lawyer's after-work hang out, but now caters for the younger student crowd aswell. It has a very good, friendly atmosphere and the inside is cosy, if a little dark. They serve a good selection of wines and beers/ real ales and the food is great, extremely big portions, reasonably priced. The best feature of this pub however is the large beer garden at the back, great to sit out in on a hot summer's day.
