Made a regular out of me.

4*

Nikki D. says:

My boyfriend and I have recently moved to Camden and came across The Prince Albert last week. We booked a table for dinner in the upstairs restaurant and we will definately go back. The food was of great quality and the staff were lovely. My Hot chocolate fondant could have been a little bigger though. We were also pleasantly surprised when the bill arrived with a 50% discount for a current promotion they are running. Great value for money. Thank you for a lovely evening.

Surprisingly good

4*

Simon B. says:

This place is fantastic. Was there last Friday and could barely get in the place, and little wonder. They run two menus: bar and restaurant, both equally as impressive from what I could see. Plus a specials board that I’m reliably told by a local friend of mine changes on a regular basis. Classy restaurant set-up on the first floor and laid back ground floor bar. Service was friendly and helpful. Food was great. I had the rabbit pie, my partner the turbot. Desserts were divine. Excellent value for money when you consider some of the ingredients they are using. Have already booked my place for Christmas. Highly recommend.

Fantastic new gastropub!

5*

Marcus T. says:

Previously a pretty horrible pub which closed down, it has been transformed under new ownership and is now a fantastic but unpretentious gastropub.

The gorgeous wooden interior (new but in an authentic period style) complements the fabulous food, with a varied menu prepared by a chef who is passionate about sourcing high quality ingredients from all over Europe, including truffles, hams, game, cheeses, and more. Dishes include rabbit & mushroom pie with mash, roast partridge with celeriac mash, sea bass, caesar salad, duck burger with hand cut chips... prices for main courses range from £7 and up, with promotions on 2 & 3 courses (£12 & £14 respectively) depending on the day of the week.

At the moment (October 2007) there is a 50% discount on all food on Mondays, but even full price you certainly get what you pay for - I'm often disappointed with overpriced "gastropub" food, but not here, it really is excellent, I mean that.

Last but certainly not least, the bar offers a wide range of accompanying British & European beers, as well as a decent wine menu, and a range of spirits & mixers.

I'm delighted to have such a wonderful pub only a few minutes from my flat, and I've become a regular in only a very short space of time. It's a real pleasure to support a local business of such quality with my custom and to recommend it to others. I love local! We all love local! :)
