Pub on the park

4*

Lee M. says:

excellent atmosphere in the summer, put simply, nothing else in hackney is even on the same par. The rest stand to compare as the vulgar indoor limited vernacular. On a common, but it's not so common. A stones throw from an olympic outdoor heated pool, park for the kids adjacent, overlooking the last spacious green patch before the inner east closes in on itself into the city greys (apart from the world class splash of culture via the added diverse graffiti in the area also). Becoming more cosmopolitan, and welcoming to once w1 only dwellers with local gentrification limited to realistic practicalities. Top drama every time i visited furthermore as i learnt more and more about the novel capacity of the staff. A saucy south african girl, Helen, and the tall australian lad Richard, an ironic ex convict. Both there almost every day, working or drinking with the rest of us. Their private lives very widely discussed with suspense. I miss hearing AND experiencing the drama there literally. One of those places you have to go to more than once on tour for sure. Some really hate a crazy governor, but if you look past any offence, and open your self to the amusement, there's a sound laugh in his quite theatrical lack of patron concern.

Pub with a beer park

4*

Alan S. says:

This pub has a great terrace over looking London Fields. It's a great place to meet friends for a booooozy Sunday.

I haven't eaten here for a log time so can't comment on the food. However, as place for a few beers after a kick about on London Fields it's ideal.

A really nice pub, with a great outdoor seating area, its worth enjoying in the sunshine with some friedns, really popular in the summer, its one of the places to be.

Love the outdoor deck

4*

Amanda J. says:

Walking through London Fields for the first time after I moved into my new apartment nearby I was attracted like a moth to a lovely looking pub with a large outdoor deck. That I declared, is my new local.

Aside from the deck, it has a good selection of beers, a reasonably friendly clientele and unfortunately, somewhat incompetent bar staff. They just never seem to know who arrived when at the bar. Having said that, if you can get served it's a brilliant pub and I couldn't think of a nicer place to spend a hot Summers afternoon.

Nice if you can avoid the queues

3*

Brad W. says:

What a great spot. Decks on London Fields. Full of all the young "new media" types you could possibly want to see on a sunny London Fields day (the last sentence is said with only a hint of irony).

Sadly the bar service can be quite spotty, and the kitchen closes early on a Sunday.

Still a nice place to enjoy the sun--but stay away if it's raining.

The Pub in the Park

4*

Catherine C. says:

Nice and friendly pub on the fields. Has a large seating area outside so great to watch cricket in the summer. Really good sausage sandwiches.
