An exhastive search of venues plus being treated like a leaper when I said "18th birthday" I finally found a sympathic ear. Hennesseys in Kingsbury basic but functional-next to the tube station. Good sized function room with security, DJ and own bar for a reasonable price, can't ask for more. Book it Danno!!
