<![CDATA[Greater London - Brent - Queen's Park - Eating, Drinking and Nightlife - Reviews]]> http://www.welovelocal.com Reviews from welovelocal.com en Overpriced!!! http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/brent/queens-park/cafes/jacks-cafe-nw66nh.html#r53295 Ive worked in QP for approx 2yrs and have only been to Jacks three times. 1st time i went i had a prawn mayo sandwich which was pricy but ok. 2nd time i had the same but the prawns this time was RAW and i had a stomach bug for 2wks!! Even after this i still went back, today in fact and ordered a chicken and cheese toasty which came to a whooping £2.95 and i didnt even receive a napkin which i assumed would be in the bag since im paying almost £3 for a sandwich. I wont be going back! Alot of people go there only because there arent any other food shops around apart from Starbucks and a greasy takeaway shop!

Friendly Irish Pub http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/brent/queens-park/pubs/the-corrib-rest-nw66pa.html#r43348 Great for watching all your fav sports. Lots of room. Friendly locals, children welcome. Food is cheap and cheerful - good for lunch or snacks.

Penk's http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/brent/queens-park/french-restaurants/penks-nw66nh.html#r9316 I had been here on a few free luches with work and was always impressed with the food. It is a little pricey for lunch however for an evening meal the place is lovely with a nice atmosphere where you can enjoy your company without to much noise. the food is always delicious, The game terine for starter was perfect and the lamb was served just right. They often make changes to the menu aswell which means the place never gets tiresome.

Great little find http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/brent/queens-park/cafes/hugos-cafe-nw66ra.html#r9234 We stumbled upon Hugo's this weekend and what a find!

Tucked away on a small mews street it's surprisingly roomy inside. We started lunch at 1 and rolled out at 5 feeling thoroughly well fed and full of wine. It's open all day so you can push on through from breakfast to nightcaps if you so wish.

The food is hearty, tasty and comes in decent portions at reasonable prices. The atmosphere is very welcoming and it's extremely kid-friendly.

The only issue - no beers on tap. It's definately a restaurant not a gastro-pub.

I will definately be going back soon.

Excellent for brunch http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/brent/queens-park/cafes/hugos-cafe-nw66ra.html#r2383 This is the place to go for your brunch on the weekend. They really know how to do a cooked breakfast, grilled, healthy, with all the trimmings. Either carnivorous or veggie, either one is excellent. The other choices are great too, as I have worked my way through the entire menu. An excellent chilled hang out for a weekend morning, a blessing to us locals!

Hugo's http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/brent/queens-park/cafes/hugos-cafe-nw66ra.html#r698 Organic restaurant and bar in an attractive Mews surrounded by design studios and galleries, this is a pleasant but expensive restaurant. Really nice in the summer when you can set out on the cobbled street in conservatory style garden furniture and enjoy a bottle of wine. Best to reserve a table as this place can get busy. There is a piano and jazz night on Tues.

Penk's http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/brent/queens-park/french-restaurants/penks-nw66nh.html#r703 Penk's is a nice little bistro restaurant. The food is lovely and the service great. Mainly Italian and traditional main's. Not too expensive but not really a lunchtime venue , unless you want to pay more than the normal lunchtime £5. Great place to take clients.

The Corrib Rest http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/brent/queens-park/pubs/the-corrib-rest-nw66pa.html#r582 A large Irish pub at the top of Salusbury Road. This is a great pub and has all the character of a true Irish pub. Expect to find old men propping up the bar watching Irish football, news channels and horse racing. A large menu served all day ranging from baguettes and potatoes, Thai curry and a great Irish stew served with soda bread. The best thing about lunch in this pub is that no matter how big or small your party and diversity in food orders all meals always come out together!

Salusbury http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/brent/queens-park/pubs/the-salusbury-pub-dining-room-nw66nn.html#r770 Very nice pub with a restaurant that serves excellent and moderatley priced food. There is a lunchtime special which is a vegetable pasta dish and half a pint or soft drink for £6.00. Although nice enough its more satisfying to spend the extra few pounds and choose a small size dish off the main menu.
