]]> Mon, 07 Jul 2008 16:58:00 BST They shouldn't be in business http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/bromley/shortlands/pet-shops/animal-magic-br20dn.html#r50548 Just forgot to add, whilst it is not illegal to sell puppy farmed puppies (sadly) there are many things this shop is doing which ARE reportable to the council, and which under their pet shop license they should be doing, and are clearly not. There is a specified amount of room required per animal for example, and the animals must be kept in clean conditions. So if we can't put them out of business for puppy farming please DO report them to Environmental Health Dept, Bromley Council. Genuine complaints must be followed up by the council. PLEASE, if you have concerns do report them to the council, by doing nothing we just allow this to continue.

I'm glad I have sought out a rescue centre in the area and homed a cat really in need - the people genuinely cared for the animals, unlike what I've seen in the shop. When somebody came in to enquire about kittens she had brought into the shop, the owner flat out told her one had died - very harshly and the woman was obviously upset - these animals just mean money to the owners. I have also been in there and seen young children working unattended there, with some older children smoking in the shop near the kittens - not to mention it being illegal as this is a place of work, and very unpleasant for animals and visitors. The worst pet shop I've ever been in - a disgrace

Helen you sell and profit from the misery of dogs in puppy farms. Other pet shops don't make their money this way, so you don't have to either - YOU CHOOSE TO. You are a puppy farm outlet plain and simple.

Interesting that you claim to have researched some of the breeders, care to share who they are with us so we can do the same? List them on here if you are so sure they are 'reputable' No reputable breeder sells to Pet Shops. Re the review from Melissa S, yes they do come out with a load of B*S when challenged. I got a completely different explanation. Fact is the puppies can't be registered with the KC for that very reason, they breed as many litters as they can from the dogs - PUPPY FARM, also the parents aren't registered. Glad I'm not the only one to realise this. They are also listed on the Puppy Watch website as known for buying in farmed puppies. Also it is against the trades description act to advertise them as pedigree, so if you happen to see that advertised, please do post on here so that I can contact Trading Standards please.

]]> Mon, 07 Jul 2008 15:15:53 BST very pleased http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/bromley/shortlands/pet-shops/animal-magic-br20dn.html#r50052 I think that it's easy for people to judge what they obviously don't know much about, Animal Magic is 100 times better than other pet shops i have been in. the staff are very helpfull and know what they are talking about i have researched a couple of the breeders and found them to be of good standard. it is hard for the crates to be kept spotless and i think they do a good job. the puppies are out for play times in the mornings and evenings. i have bought 2 pups from here and are very pleased with them both.

She was very dirty (as was her pen), and obviously scared. She was not KC registered, as the shop assistant informed us that only a certain amount of litters can be registered to one bitch per year; this heavily suggests that the poor puppy, and her mum, are the products of an unscrupulous puppy farm. Bromley council have advised us that this is not illegal, but anyone who visits the shop will see, as we did, that it is highly unethical.
