Today I've been astounded by my visit to Tusk. This hair salon employs friendly staff, offering POSITIVE commentary without cross-selling hair-care products. Not only was my nervous babbling handled well but the ideas I had regarding style and cut were considered and discussed with me. I am delighted about the resulting cut. Furthermore this is the first time I have ever left a hairdresser and not immediately re-styled [or in some cases re-cut] my hair. This exceeded all my expectations!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyway this guy and sod off and go and get a 40's RAF officer haircut somewhere else (if that was the description no wonder he got some grunts...."Yes my good man, I would like a traditional short back and sides with a hint of 40's RAF officer"...what a twat...he probably got the haircut he deserved as the bloke thought about the 40's RAF officers who were actually fighting and didnt give a crap about their hair. ANYWAY...onto Ossie's...this place is superb and judging by how packed it is most days and especially Saturday's most of the Camden/Primose Hill clientele agree...I have been coming here regularly and am never disappointed (unless I keep quiet..what a twat) by the cut I receive. Ossie's rocks.

While the shop front is decked out in a glittering array of traditional barber's tool, like cut-throat razors, clipping shears etc, and the place itself is clean and pleasant, the actual service (which is what really matters) is abysmal. T The surly Middle eastern gent who attended to me was given very precise directions on what type of hair cut I wanted. my instructions were interpunctuated by ill-tempered grunts, and while I was still talking i had that sinking feeling of that the chap wasn't listening at all. However, as I was already in the chair under his 'capable' hands, I hoped for the best. When the man had finished his handiwork, I recoiled in horror from the reflection in the mirror: instead of a traditional short-back-and sides, with a touch of 40s RAF officer' I looked like a Gulag inmate who'd just been 'done' by the prison camp barber. I will certainly never step into this place again, and while these are over 20 quid I shan't see again, I at least have the consolation that my hair will grow back again, no thanks to these fellows!

The salon is cosy and stylish and staff is very friendly and they all seem to be passionate and talented hairstylists.

Prices are okay too; you get 15 % off on your first visit.

David is lots of fun and has very good attention to detail. I found the other staff very friendly and attentive.

Prices very reasonable too, compared to some of the not so good rip off salons in Camden.

Will most certainly be returning and recommending to my friends.
