Aladdins Cave http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/camden/covent-garden/hardware-shops-ironmongers/robert-dyas-wc2n4as.html#r31907 My colleagues take the mick out of me for going here so much but it's a really good store for all things housey - cleaning products, hardware, tools, ironing boards, bins, cables, plugs everything. In the middle of winter i needed some of those blue blocks you put int he freezer then in cool bags for picnics and although they didn't have any out, they went and got some from out back for me. Wonderful.

"Super" Store http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/camden/covent-garden/hardware-shops-ironmongers/robert-dyas-wc2n4as.html#r20213 What a place. This is like Aladdins cave for the home owner. From saucepans to screws, from lighbulbs to garden seed. Amazing! Anything you need for the home is in there! In theory the store should be massive but it isn't. Staff are always there to help the less experienced DIY person.

Jewellery fit for a princess!! http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/camden/covent-garden/glassware-china-shops/swarovski-wc2e8pa.html#r17451 My sister is crazy for Swarovski and this madness is catching, now I am crazy on it too!! Don't think that it is all expensive and pricey stuff, of course there are the magnificent pieces that will set you back a fair amount, but you can also find beautiful pieces for around £30, it's not all expensive.

They often have smaller versions of their popular crystal jewellery so if, say a big pendant is £60 they may have a smaller version of it for £35 which is not only affordable but may be preferable to have a more understated piece of jewellery that you can get more everyday wear out of rather than something you will only wear a couple of times a year. Saying that, their more expensive pieces are divine and I think they are worth every penny.

The staff in this shop are very helpful and allow you to view jewellery and try it on (apart from earrings of course) before buying. If you haven't been to a Swarovski shop before, it really is worth going, people who think it is all very expensive or over-priced will be pleasantly surprised.

Everything in one place http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/camden/covent-garden/hardware-shops-ironmongers/robert-dyas-wc2n4as.html#r12168 Is it wrong to love Robert Dyas?

This shop seems to have everything - from cups to lightbulbs, from fancy dusters to fancy blenders, from picture frames to pestle and mortars. This place has the biggest selection of hooks I've ever seen!!

Ok, so it's not rocket science. It's a hardwear store. But it just seems to have everything you need for the household and I thoroughly enjoy going in there as it has everything. And I always come out with something else which I didn't realise I needed.

This Robert Dyas is right near Leicester Square and not where you would expect a shop like this, but it's really handy for this area. It's not terribly expensive and they have lots of special offers.

The only thing they don't have is sewing kits for an emergency....mental.
