<![CDATA[Greater London - Camden - Covent Garden - Public Services, Education & Careers - Reviews]]> http://www.welovelocal.com Reviews from welovelocal.com en Busy busy busy http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/camden/covent-garden/post-office/post-office-wc2n4dl.html#r41017 This is a huge post office in a central location so you can't really expect it to be any less busy than it is at peak times like lunch. I do feel that the closing of the smaller ones everywhere will only serve to put more pressure on these larger ones. The queue for the windows is a perpetual massive snake but it slithers quickly. You can't even buy a lottery ticket or stamps quickly at the retail desk. The photo booth did not work when we needed it last - that was a poor show. And admittedly, it could do with a make over as the interior is basic and archaic.

Biggest is not always bestest http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/camden/covent-garden/post-office/post-office-wc2n4dl.html#r14515 Despite this post office with it's prime location being the biggest I've ever seen and with the most cubby holes for serving staff - this post office has the longest, slowest queues I have ever seen.

I always seem to go here when it's raining and that means it smells too.

Yes the area has a huge catchment for post office deeds with lots of businesses so may excuse the queues a bit.

But it's still rubbish and a rubbish experience.

The rush around a lot doing what? http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/camden/covent-garden/police/metropolitan-police-service-wc2n4jp.html#r2868 I went to this police station to report a stolen bike it was a waste of time. Having had three bikes stolen in the last few years it is a mockery to think the police are of any use against this crime wave. Having been a motorcyclist and been hounded by the police stopped every month of the year for 20 years that is 200 + times for trumped up charges or none at all. It is amazing that they do not have any system of bike ownership or an ID card with details of when you bought it and your name and adress onto which they could place endorsements for going the wrong way down the street riding on the pavement and going through red lights which we see do every day by push bike riders. One set of laws on those which they can be enforced on and no laws at for those which these laws can not be enforced on is the case then.

Chinese Library with English books http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/camden/covent-garden/libraries/charing-cross-library-wc2h0bj.html#r2474 This is a library which holds a large section of Chinese books. It has a newspaper section in both Chinese and English. A small computer section is always busy. Books are the usual good quality from Westminster council. A large DVD section has the usual good quality films I rented 24 and it worked well with no scratches. At weekends and other times discounts are available. I have used this libraries very uncomfortable seats and find it's very busy filled with people hanging around especially tramps and bag ladies. Printing can be a problem as the reference library is only a five minute walk away it is best to go there this one is only good for popping into do not expect to be able to study there or get any peace and quiet.

More of a adult liabery http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/camden/covent-garden/libraries/micro-library-wc2n5dn.html#r2142 The micro liabery consists of information books, exhibitions of paintings and prints. The building looks like a palace from outside however i found it quite boring inside, although it will hold of a great relevance to those who are interested in information about the old ages.
