<![CDATA[Greater London - Camden - Covent Garden - Travel and Transportation - Reviews]]> http://www.welovelocal.com Reviews from welovelocal.com en Great in the Evening. http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/camden/covent-garden/underground-stations/embankment-underground-station-wc2n6nl.html#r55500 Well I work at this station and Embankment is deffinately the place to head to in the evenings. With bars, retaurants, clubs and tours right from outside the station its got something for everyone.

Take a walk up Villiers Street, have a drink in the Theadore Bullfrog and then go a see a show on The Strand.

Excellent hotel in prime location http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/camden/covent-garden/5-star-hotels/the-radisson-edwardian-hampshire-hotel-wc2h7lh.html#r41741 This hotel sits in one corner of Leicester Square. I have always found the staff to be friendly and helpful, and the rooms are top quality. It's also good to find a hotel where you are not kept awake by the sound of extractor fans and heating vents.

You do pay for the quality, but it is well worth it.

Great location http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/camden/covent-garden/3-star-hotels/strand-palace-hotel-wc2r0jj.html#r41397 My stay here was a one off. The hotel has a perfect position for enjoying the West End of London and of course Theatreland. The decor is dated, but in good order and service was as expected. My room however was obviously once an alcove in a corridor, it was cramped and hot. The bed against 1 wall consumed the room, with barely enough room to open the door! Other rooms are probably better, mine was pokey.

AVOID http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/camden/covent-garden/underground-stations/covent-garden-underground-station-wc2e9jt.html#r41340 I detest using this station, far too cramped. Whether you use the lifts or use the stairs it takes forever to get of there. I can't even believe that even being a station with four lifts there is still congestion. I do all I can to avoid this station, using Holborn or Leicester Square, as I know I won't be late for work just trying to exit the station. Given that it is actually only 15 seconds on the tube between Leicester Square and Covent Garden, and Michael Johnson could run the distance in 19.32 seconds, its worth the two minute walk from there to get to Covent Garden.

More than a hotel http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/camden/covent-garden/hotels/one-aldwych-wc2b4rh.html#r37413 I had a party here and it was just the best. The hotel itself is modern and classy but still comfortable and the food was way better than we had expected. It was pretty busy when we went and as we had such a good time i would recommend booking rather than chancing it.

always busy http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/camden/covent-garden/underground-stations/covent-garden-underground-station-wc2e9jt.html#r31553 This station is constantly busy with people going to the Covent Garden markets as wel as to Leicester Square - which actually isn't much of a walk - the platforms are always packed and it's just a nightmare..

Well hidden http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/camden/covent-garden/underground-stations/leicester-square-underground-station-wc2h7jh.html#r29325 Which is ironic seeing as it's in the heart of tourist London! It's 'near' rather than 'on' Leicester Square and busy at all of the peak times as you would expect.

I live by the river http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/camden/covent-garden/underground-stations/embankment-underground-station-wc2n6nl.html#r29324 The Thames is the lifeblood of London, and this station is ideal for heading off for a nice walk to see all of the 'famous' bits around Westminster.
