<![CDATA[Greater London - Camden - Covent Garden - Travel and Transportation - Underground Stations - Reviews]]> http://www.welovelocal.com Reviews from welovelocal.com en Great in the Evening. http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/camden/covent-garden/underground-stations/embankment-underground-station-wc2n6nl.html#r55500 Well I work at this station and Embankment is deffinately the place to head to in the evenings. With bars, retaurants, clubs and tours right from outside the station its got something for everyone. Take a walk up Villiers Street, have a drink in the Theadore Bullfrog and then go a see a show on The Strand.

AVOID http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/camden/covent-garden/underground-stations/covent-garden-underground-station-wc2e9jt.html#r41340 I detest using this station, far too cramped. Whether you use the lifts or use the stairs it takes forever to get of there. I can't even believe that even being a station with four lifts there is still congestion. I do all I can to avoid this station, using Holborn or Leicester Square, as I know I won't be late for work just trying to exit the station. Given that it is actually only 15 seconds on the tube between Leicester Square and Covent Garden, and Michael Johnson could run the distance in 19.32 seconds, its worth the two minute walk from there to get to Covent Garden.

always busy http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/camden/covent-garden/underground-stations/covent-garden-underground-station-wc2e9jt.html#r31553 This station is constantly busy with people going to the Covent Garden markets as wel as to Leicester Square - which actually isn't much of a walk - the platforms are always packed and it's just a nightmare..

Well hidden http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/camden/covent-garden/underground-stations/leicester-square-underground-station-wc2h7jh.html#r29325 Which is ironic seeing as it's in the heart of tourist London! It's 'near' rather than 'on' Leicester Square and busy at all of the peak times as you would expect.

I live by the river http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/camden/covent-garden/underground-stations/embankment-underground-station-wc2n6nl.html#r29324 The Thames is the lifeblood of London, and this station is ideal for heading off for a nice walk to see all of the 'famous' bits around Westminster.

Well worth a miss http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/camden/covent-garden/underground-stations/covent-garden-underground-station-wc2e9jt.html#r29314 I really don't get all the fuss about Covent Garden, so it always surprises me that this station is so gosh darned busy! If you don't go then I couldn't hold my hand up and say that you've missed anything.

Great Location but..... http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/camden/covent-garden/underground-stations/embankment-underground-station-wc2n6nl.html#r28709 Could do with a lick of paint, right on the river front this is a superb location with The Strand, London Eye and The River Boat Piers right in front of you as you come out.

A lot quieter than Westminster, and on a sunny day its great to take a walk and see whats going on.

Served by the Bakerloo, Northern, Circle and District lines you're just minutes away from the rest of londons top attractions.

Trafalgar Square Here http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/camden/covent-garden/underground-stations/charing-cross-underground-station-wc2n5dn.html#r28707 If you're going on a site seeing day then this is the place to head, Trafalgar Square with all of its statues and history lies here, as does the phone box used in the Green Street Movie!

The station is fairly quite duiring the week but explodes into live at the weekends, especially over the summer as tourists, and pigeons flock in!

Stairs Galore http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/camden/covent-garden/underground-stations/covent-garden-underground-station-wc2e9jt.html#r28705 One thing I would say is if you're like me and hate lifts get off at Hoborn or Leicester Square and walk, cos there is literally a mountain to climb to get out of Covent Garden.

Whatever time of the day you go this place is always rammed but when you get out you see why, a beautiful shopping arcde and some lovely restaurants which are well worth a visit.
