<![CDATA[Greater London - Camden - Fitzrovia - Eating, Drinking and Nightlife - Reviews]]> http://www.welovelocal.com Reviews from welovelocal.com en Watch your pennies! http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/camden/fitzrovia/cafes/squat-gobble-w1t4pj.html#r53301 Popped in for lunch recently, handed over a note to pay and turned to get some more change only to be told (very rudely) that I hadn't given any money at all. Apart from the fact that he'd taken my money but refused to give me any food, it was the attitude. They have too much competition for them to afford to be so insulting to customers. Shame, I used to like going there!

The £3 Pizza Place http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/camden/fitzrovia/cafes/italiano-coffee-company-w1t4lu.html#r52674 This is know as the £3 Pizza Place to me and all who know me. The food is fast and tasty and you can drizzle on as much chili oil as you like.

Mushroom I would recommend for the veggies and even though they are thin crust they are filling for what you pay. This is a good place to go if you are on a budget or in a rush. You can even take your family there. My dad loved it! He really loved me buying dinner too!

They shout out your name when your pizza is ready so make sure you give them something comedy to shout out. My favorite is Ms. Nachos.

Avoid this pub http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/camden/fitzrovia/pubs/the-stags-head-w1w6xw.html#r50941 2 friends have had their drinks spiked in here, never returning, EVER, PERIOD.

Far too much chemical activity going on in the toilet cubicles too. Avoid!

Best one in London? http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/camden/fitzrovia/restaurant-bars/the-slug-lettuce-w1w7pq.html#r49578 I'm not usually a fan of big bar chains. But this branch of the Slug And Lettuce is exception. Not one that you'd probably go to this one at the weekend because I think it's shut, but if you work close by or are doing some post-work shopping at Oxford Circus then it's a pretty good choice for a restorative gin and tonic on a week day.

Half the bar has stools, high tables and bar service. The other half has big tables, comfy seats and table service. Food-wise, burgers are ok but I prefer the nachos to share.

Not a bad place for a spot of celeb spotting either...

Mexican with a mexican twist http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/camden/fitzrovia/mexican-restaurants/mestizo-nw13el-1.html#r43675 This isn't the place to go for your burritos, enchiladas or chili-con-carne; but if you want authentic Mexican (mole sauce and all) this is certainly a great visit!

If you are unsure on what to have they offer a 'tapas' style menu from which you can order multiple dishes and not feel like you have eaten a whole cow after polishing them all off and licking the plate clean. If you know what you are looking for there is also a large 'main course' menu consisting of larger portioned dishes.

I'd recommend avoiding puddings and sampling a couple of tequila's instead (they have a range of over 40 at varying prices).

On a weekend their is also a downstairs disco and this can lead to a rather odd dining experience but ignoring that the food is great and at a good price!
