He will happily discuss the merits of the Goodyear welting system and the pros and cons of the stick on sole. He will treat your handmade Lobb boots with the respect they deserve – and in particular not go too hard on the heel sander to the point where they look like Cuban heeled cowboy boots – while not turning his nose up at painstakingly rescuing those Chain Store cheapies that cost nothing, but you wear every summer.
