Lunch was very tasty - had the roast beef and it was lovely. Staff are really friendly and not overly informal, which made the visit even more relaxing and enjoyable. They have a great make it yourself noodle bar as well as some other interesting dishes.

I would recommend booking as it can get quite busy.

If I had the money to live in Hampstead, I'd eat here 10 times a week," Really??? 1. They have totally ruined the fabulous wood panelled interior. 2. The service is chaotic and slow. 3. The portions are tiny! 4. The food is pretentious and over sauced and not very pleasant. 5. £126 for four at dinner without wine is expensive! 6. Service included but the credit card machine pops up "Gratuity?" which the waitress is keen to draw to your attention. The couple at the table next to us left after the starters having waited 20 minutes for their main course. Wish we had too! Avoid!! Brian H.

A friend of mine who used to use the Islington branch says the same thing happened to his local branch. It seems the company has expanded too quickly (now they're all over London) and they simply haven't had the time to train up enough chefs properly. Their system seems to be that the quality chef(s) hang around as a branch is opening, but then head off to assist with the launch of the next.

My last few orders have been distinctly average curries and delivered far later than expected.

It's a shame because I loved the Bombay Bicycle Club for being such a slick operation and they genuinely made the additional cost worthwhile. These days I'm not so sure.

We stopped here on our way to the tube from a walk round Hampstead heath on a sunny bank holiday and luckily got a table outside. The bitter was good ahich is becoming a rarity!

They've done a good job with weather wooden chairs and tables paired with modern paintwork.

The pub is always full on a Friday evening with drinkers, and eaters. Towards the back of the pub there is a restaurant serving a quality menu with a British bent.

It is not the cheapest meal you will have, but then you are in Hampstead.

I still prefer the menu at The Wells Inn, but that can be quite difficult to get into. In these situations The Horsehoe is a good back up.

I've eaten downstairs, which is the casual pub area, where you can eat inside or outside, and I've eaten upstairs, which is a smart restaurant.

The food is great. It will not be the cheapest meal you've had, expecially if you eat upstairs, but you'll definitely enjoy it!

I've been here for a little sneak during a walk with my friends on a sunday afternoon. This place is modern and comfortable. We enjoied our time here and we ate very well. Food is very good and there's a nice wide range that makes difficult to pick out something to eat (above all for desserts).
