<![CDATA[Greater London - Camden - Hampstead - Eating, Drinking and Nightlife - French Restaurants - Reviews]]> http://www.welovelocal.com Reviews from welovelocal.com en Fantastic Food, no doubt http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/camden/hampstead/french-restaurants/le-cellier-du-midi-nw36up.html#r1789 The first time i descended the creaky stairs into 'Le Cellier Du Midi' I couldn't help but be wary of what was to come next. However, this secluded French restaurant did nothing but surprise me. The food is exquisite, the service excellent, and the atmosphere mellow but peaceful and romantic. It is a little expensive but by no means overpriced. Take no notice of its exterior, hidden just behind Tesco Express, for the interior boasts nothing less than some of the best cuisine I have tasted in London to this day.

Basic food - high prices http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/camden/hampstead/french-restaurants/base-nw31qp.html#r1787 After leaving Base, for the first time, I was so excited about meeting Freddie Ljungberg, that I failed to notice just how light my wallet was. It was only when I got home, and the novelty of meeting one of Arsenal's greatest had somewhat worn off, that I realized that I had just spent the best part of a tenner on a toasted sandwich I could have easily got from a nearby deli for 2 quid. Yes, Arsenal players go there sometimes, and yes the food is OK, but when you have just spent 7 pounds on a ham club sandwich, you get the feeling that Base has just picked you up, turned you upside down, and robbed you of all the money you have in your pockets. I'll see you at the deli.
