When I following up via telephone I could not get an answer, tried at least 20 times. I then resorted to email, no luck. I never received the goods. Thanks The Optical Store.

Nice gym - shame about the management http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/camden/holborn/health-clubs/gymbox-wc1v6lf.html#r47745 Gymbox is a nice enough gym - until you come to cancel. They make it very difficult to cancel - asking you to come in person despite the contract stating written notice - and continued to take my money claiming not to have received the second of my written notices.

Even when this all came to light, they continued to claim that further membership fees were due and ignored all of my letters, instead sending standard debt letters.

I would not recommend these guys to anyone.

poor service http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/camden/holborn/bike-shops/cycle-surgery-wc1v6nx.html#r46963 Cycle Surgery had my money for 10 weeks before I had my light. No apology. No nothing. Beware! They sent an incomplete kit and it took 10 weeks to finish the order. Almost no email replys.

A camera shop... with a cafe! http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/camden/holborn/cafes/the-camera-cafe-wc1a1ly.html#r43739 Coffee was above average, and they have a decent range of pre-loved camera gear in here. an essential stop on a 'buying more camera' trip round central London. if you sufffer from NAS (Nikon aquisition syndrome) then this place should be at the top of your list.

World famous, for a reason http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/camden/holborn/hospitals/great-ormond-street-childrens-hospital-wc1n3jh.html#r43709 It feels a bit weird writing a review of a children's hospital, as if you've spent any time here, either as a parent or visitor, odds on it wasn't under the best circumstances. Anyway, having one of my kids spend the best part of 6 months in here a couple of years ago, i think I am pretty well qualified to comment, and yes, I am biased. Facilities and staff are fantastic - some parts of the hospital are pretty old and are undergoing a phased period of repair, so no, it's not all PFI money and bells and whistles (I often thought how they could justify spending millions on the NHS homeopathic hospital nextdoor - dispensers of diluted flower juice to the idiotic - whilst GOSH was trying to raise enough money to upgrade some its pre-war wings so they could be more effective saving the lives of children). But the bits that really matter - trained staff, secure and safe rooms, and equipment, is here. It even has a decent Costa cafe in the middle, and there are loads of decent places to eat nearby (Brunswick Centre!) should you be 'living in' or visiting, something that makes long stays in hospital more bearable. It's pretty well connected with a tube stop nearby, buses galore, taxis, and, oh yes, ambulances!

Booze clouded memories http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/camden/holborn/night-clubs/bloomsbury-ballroom-wc1b4da.html#r43017 Went here for the 'works xmas party' - which consequently means my review isn't worth the HTML it's written on as I was already sozzled when I turned up, and I tried in vain to keep up with the sales team who were on their traditional mission to top up their bonuses by necking as much free hooch as possible.

So, what can I remember? Erm, not much, the head of the company gave a lacklustre speech which did little to bloster the troops of a businessgoing through a rocky patch..

Oh, the venue? Well, it had an art deco vibe to it as I recall, perhaps even a touch of the neo-classical??

I was forcibly ejected from the place when I tried to spark up a fag inside, which is fantastic as I don't even smoke.

I'm looking forward to returning and casting another drunken eye over the place...

Restaurant http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/camden/holborn/italian-restaurants/italian-kitchen-wc1a1bh.html#r41724 If you love Italian food you will love this restaurant as the food and service is superb but you must book as you maybe standing outside wishing you had. It is a little bit pricey but worth every penny. The atmosphere of the restaurant is just right if you want a quite moment away from the hustle and bustle of London.
