<![CDATA[Greater London - Camden - Holborn - Eating, Drinking and Nightlife - Pubs - Reviews]]> http://www.welovelocal.com Reviews from welovelocal.com en Snob Screens http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/camden/holborn/pubs/the-lamb-wc1n3lz.html#r41395 This pub still has the old vctorian snob/privacy screens

When at Uni I lived around the corner of three years and this was a regulat haunt when we wanted to get away from the Union.

I came back last summer and it still serves excellent beer, especially the Young's Special and the food's worth a punt too.

There's also a patio garden out back.

Top afternoon http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/camden/holborn/pubs/the-old-crown-wc1a1bh.html#r37459 We spent the afternoon in here and to be honest it was the best part of the weekend. The menu is great, even if you have fussy eaters with you as they do veggie stuff too. The beer is cheap and they are happy to supply free water with your food.

Quick grab a seat outside http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/camden/holborn/pubs/princess-louise-wc1v7bw.html#r37458 If you are lucky and get there early enough you can grab a seat outside and watch the world go by. It gets quite busy in here and attracts more blokes than girls. More a drinking hole than pub. Grrrr

Chain Pub Chavs http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/camden/holborn/pubs/oneills-wc2b5aa.html#r36284 This is in a good place, but the fact its a chain pub means you get a lot of load mouth chavs in here, who can afford the £2.50 a pint deals or the buy one get one free 'exclusives'.

if you're looking for cheap drinks, with lots of teens swearing then go here.

Party Down http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/camden/holborn/pubs/the-old-crown-wc1a1bh.html#r36281 This is a premier London venue, with two different venues depending on whether your upstairs or down.

Downstairs is a little loud with some really good tunes blasting out. Upstairs, a little quieter with comfortable seats and a ncie place for a tequilla or two after a buisy day in the office.

Does exactly what is says on the ceg http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/camden/holborn/pubs/cittie-of-yorke-wc1v6bn.html#r28589 Historic 15th centaury building, the former site of the Gray's Inn Coffee Shop.

The spacious and fascinating pub has long bars, massive wine cegs and delightful selection of ales.

Near to both Holborn and Chancery Lane tube stations.

Retro bliss http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/camden/holborn/pubs/princess-louise-wc1v7bw.html#r28576 Newly re-opened pub decked in Victorian splendour, with a compartment style downstairs bar and upstairs sitting quarters.

As you expect from a Sam Smith’s pub, the drink is cheap (under £2 for a pint) and the venue is busy, without being ridiculously packed.

Despite its proximity to Holborn tube station, the British Museum and Covent Garden, this good time boozer succeeds best of all by being a hit with the locals.

Self service optional. http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/camden/holborn/pubs/the-bountiful-cow-wc1r4ap.html#r27399 This is a gastropub which was started by the owner of the Seven Stars in Carey Street and its raison d'être is steak which they don't do badly at all. The rib eye would be my recommendation. Other dishes on the menu are borrowed from the Seven Stars.

The atmosphere upstairs is great but the downstairs leaves you feeling like they ran out of money and good luck getting table service.

Food is by and large pretty good and not bad value but the serving staff are utterly inept which really puts me off.

purely for the ceiling http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/camden/holborn/pubs/princess-louise-wc1v7bw.html#r22769 i stand in awe my jaw open and my eyes upward, spilling my guinness all over my feet in this place. the decor is absolutely unbelievably authentically amazing. its a nice pub too, and always crowded enough that you can nick in and use the toilet without getting evils from the barman, even if you re not staying for a drink. much closer than the british museum and less touristy, i find.
