<![CDATA[Greater London - Camden - Kentish Town - Eating, Drinking and Nightlife - Night Clubs - Reviews]]> http://www.welovelocal.com Reviews from welovelocal.com en Tattererd Charm http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/camden/kentish-town/night-clubs/the-forum-nw51jy.html#r41478 A great mid-size gig venue with plenty of history and charm. The Forum has hosted some legends over the years, my fave memory being the Libertines in 2003. I think the sound is spot on (if you're in the standing section) and love the shabby elegance of the place - like a lot of classic old London Theatres/venues. Drinks choices are limited, but the 3 downstairs bars mean you shouldn't wait long to get served.

enormous venu http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/camden/kentish-town/night-clubs/the-forum-nw51jy.html#r2012 this venu attracts alot of tourists because of its extravagant outside view. Its great for a big night out. there aint anything specfic here you can get tickets for almost anything. however it always attracts big bands to come and play in the venu, although u will need to get tickets fast because they seem to sell out.

Reasonably Good Venue http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/camden/kentish-town/night-clubs/the-forum-nw51jy.html#r1692 When I used to live on Camden, Forum was one of my favorite venues for concerts & parties. I went there a couple of times each and every time it was really good party. However, having some background in audio engineering, and must say, the one and only thing that I hated about it was.. sound.

Don't get me wrong. If you stand in the very front or in the middle of the dance-floor, its super cool. The sound it very good, basses are juicy and smooth. Its clear and the sound engineers are targeting exactly that audience there. BUT when you get tired and wants to have a drink on the balcony.. the sound it a nightmare - basses are booming, the clarity of all the pitches is gone and forgotten.

Of course, I know there's not much they can do about it - Forum is big place, so its extremely hard (if possible at all) to provide same great acoustic everywhere.. but.. well... thats not my problem either.

For any other sound-loving people, pick some other (smaller) clubs or if you go to forum DO go to the very front - otherwise you might miss something...

Good again http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/camden/kentish-town/night-clubs/the-forum-nw51jy.html#r1505 I thought I'd write another review because I went to see Marillion here on Friday evening and it was just as good as the Porcupine Tree gig thus proving that it wasn't just the awesomeness of Porcupine Tree that made the previous event amazing beyond belief. The sound at The Forum really is great.

Unbelievable sound http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/camden/kentish-town/night-clubs/the-forum-nw51jy.html#r1266 When I saw Porcupine Tree here, the sound quality was unbelievably perfect - they had the balanced tuned just right so even at the very front I could hear all the intricacies of each individual instrument from the funky bass and subtle synthesised ambience to elaborate drum fills and guitar solos. A brilliant night at what turned out be the best venue I have ever been to.

Good Reliable Music Venue http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/camden/kentish-town/night-clubs/the-forum-nw51jy.html#r460 Big Music Venue that attacts a lot of big bands, mostly indie/rock bands. Its a nice venue but the drink prices are poor. £3 for a can of carling! Everytime I have gone, the last time being Dirty Pretty Things, it was good. Another advantage of the forum is its location. It's a minute away from Kentish Town Tube and if you want more bands then you can jump on the bus to Camden which is only 5 minutes away.
