<![CDATA[Greater London - Camden - Kings Cross - Eating, Drinking and Nightlife - Reviews]]> http://www.welovelocal.com Reviews from welovelocal.com en REAL London grub http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/camden/kings-cross/british-restaurants/konstam-at-the-prince-albert-wc1x9ng.html#r55741 This restaurant is a little different to most in London as it strives to get as much of it's ingredients from within the M25. While I think it's dropped it's 100% of produce from inside London tag to about 80% it's still a decent thing to be able to claim :> Turns out that London (more likely the outer boroughs to be fair) has a pretty decent larder with seafood, game, chicken, vegetables and wine all provided with full provenance (I had duck from Stansted - and no signs of an in air collision in sight). Prices are pretty good considering all the TV press it would have received and the menu interesting enough to make me want to return. Very nice indeed!

good fast food http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/camden/kings-cross/oriental-restaurants/chop-chop-noodle-bar-nw12sa.html#r54443 A great fast food alternative place to eat. Huge portions of really tasty food which i didn't expect considering the look of the place. Really reasonable price wise, this place is good for a quick bite to eat..the "eat in take away" comment from Elaine says it all! Like the bingo style ordering system!

Lovely places in King's Cross no. 3 http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/camden/kings-cross/bars/6-st-chads-place-wc1x9hh.html#r53684 "Lovely places" and "King's Cross" is surely an oxymoron? Not so, because tucked behind the Big Chill House is this cavernous bar that used to be an old mechanics workshop.

The dust and grime have long gone and in its place a fab bar for birthday drinks, cocktails and tapas.

It's got lots of lovely exposed bricks and old tiles, plus big wooden beams. Seating-wise there are a few comfy sofas and trestle tables with chairs. Plus you can hire out the space for a special occasion.

A definite find!

Quality back street local close to Scala nightclub http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/camden/kings-cross/pubs/king-charles-i-n19bl.html#r28458 Popped in here last Friday before a gig at the Scala having never visited before. What a treat! The pub had 2 well-kept ales including Deuchars IPA, a quirky comfy interior (think random antiques on walls and ceiling, a Victorian fireplace and a bar billiards table - something of a pub rarity these days). There are also a handful of tables outside in this quiet side street which made for a pleasant spot for a pint in the mild weather. The crowd was a good mix of youngsters warming up for a night out, locals and a few old boys and hippies. I wasn't expecting that much from a pub in this area but will certainly go back if I'm in these parts again. My only complaint is the bordering-on-comical size of the gents toilet. There's a cubicle and urinal but more than 2's certainly a crowd!

cool bar, slow service http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/camden/kings-cross/bars/the-big-chill-house-n19nl.html#r24314 I had high expectations when I first went to the Big Chill House as my friends were shouting about it how cool it was. Have to agree that it is a pretty cool bar with split level, a roof terrace and good music. But be prepared to wait at the bar. It seemed to me that the bar staff didn’t know anything about serving drinks. I got so annoyed by the end of the evening that I stopped buying drinks. I would rate this place higher but the service is a bit of a downer.

Great Concept !! http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/camden/kings-cross/international-restaurants/kitchin-n1-n19aa.html#r22981 We got this restaurant recommended by the hotel we were staying at. Since we are based in Kings Cross when we work in London we thought it might be a good idea to see if this place is as good as it sounded. After getting there - its 2 mins from kings cross underground we found a beautifully decorated restaurant dominated by a large center kitchen where all the food is cooked freshly. Theres 4 cuisines on offer - Chinese, Indian , Thai & Italian. Between my friends and I we had everything from starters - somosas, chinese spring rolls , thai fish cakes , main courses such chicken tikka masalla, king prawn Pad thai, spagetti Bol and found all the food tasty. The fact its all cooked freshly in front of you is a great feature and I loved the live cooking for the chinese stir fry & indian nan/tikka. For 12.95 you cant go wrong. It tremendous value and great quality - something you dont get in Kings Cross. Over the many times Ive stayed there for work Ive tried all the local places and this place is breath of fresh air. Highly recommended.
