<![CDATA[Greater London - Camden - Primrose Hill - Eating, Drinking and Nightlife - Reviews]]> http://www.welovelocal.com Reviews from welovelocal.com en Don't bother http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/camden/primrose-hill/pubs/the-engineer-nw18jh-1.html#r55505 Today was a glorious Autumn Sunday in London - possibly our last for 2008 - and everyone was out and about making the most of the city, with smiles as bright as the sunshine. That's everyone except the staff at The Engineer, who were grumpy and rude and contemptuous from the moment we arrived. We had a booking for a large group of 12, which we all understand can be more difficult to look after in terms of serving meals etc so we split our group into a table of 6 and table of 4 as requested - this pub doesn't do bookings for more than 10. The waitress 'looking after us' in fact told us that their kitchen can't handle tables larger than 6. Our plan for the afternoon was to sit in the beer garden on this beautiful day, eat a yummy lunch (which it was), and share quite a few drinks with some friends but the staff at this pub seemed intent on making sure that didn't happen - we were sick of the treatment so left as soon as we'd finished lunch to go to another pub nearby for a few more drinks. The staff at The Engineer don't seem to understand the concept of the hospitality business. They were anything but hospitable. I won't be coming back or recommending it.

Great pub http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/camden/primrose-hill/british-restaurants/the-engineer-nw18jh.html#r30868 I've been going here for 10 years and it's always been the same. You can get some quick and easy bar food or they have the restaurant which you'll need to book for. Nothing beats a glass of wine in their garden although it is very popular when the sun comes out. A very atmospheric pub and surprisingly unpretentious

A place for lazy summer days http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/camden/primrose-hill/pubs/the-princess-of-wales-nw18ll.html#r13788 Set down a quiet street just 5 mins walk from Primrose Hill this is a good pub for chilled summer days with seats outside the main entrance and a 'secret garden' that can be reached through the downstairs bar. There are plenty of places to sit and the bar is decorated with a mish mash of various photos and objects that make the it more interesting! There are all the usual drinks on offer and a menu with plenty of variety. They have jazz nights on Sundays and a quiz night on Tuesday.

engenious http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/camden/primrose-hill/british-restaurants/the-engineer-nw18jh.html#r12466 Primrose hill is full of so many pretentious overpriced places, but this one is at least worth the money. Delicious food and slightly more adventurous than most gastropubs. Gorgeous beer garden in the summer but you definitely need to book in advance to get one of the coveted tables.
