<![CDATA[Greater London - Camden - Primrose Hill - Entertainment and Culture - Tourist Attractions - Reviews]]> http://www.welovelocal.com Reviews from welovelocal.com en great day out http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/camden/primrose-hill/tourist-attractions/london-zoo-nw14ry.html#r37328 Its great that zoos still exist in this over politically correct time we live in. London Zoo still has all the animals a zoo should have . the animals are well looked after and the keepers are really at one with the beasts. This is the zoo as featured in the Harry Potter Movie ( the snake scene with HArry and his dreadful cousin) . Look out for the gorilla statue that u see in the film, although its not actually in the same place it was in the movie scene ... all done with smoke and mirrors !

Tigers http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/camden/primrose-hill/tourist-attractions/london-zoo-nw14ry.html#r33567 This is a really good zoo, packed with animals from old around the globe, the lions and tigers look fierce, while giraffes and zebras look cute, but my favourites the penguins and the monkeys. Worth a visit.

Fab monkeys... don't bother with the lunch http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/camden/primrose-hill/tourist-attractions/london-zoo-nw14ry.html#r31110 This zoo is fab... I went as a child and revisited last year (as a considerably older child!)

My favouite section is the monkey house... they are SO human like, it's amazing.

I wouldn't bother with the lunch though... they sell burgers, hot dogs etc... but they're overpriced and to be quite frank don't taste good.

what a great place http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/camden/primrose-hill/tourist-attractions/london-zoo-nw14ry.html#r23213 i love gorillas!! The enormous statue in memory of guy the gorillla stands strong in the grounds. i don't think you can ever tire of watching just how careful and not cumbersome at all the gorillas are when eating. the pygmy hippo's were cute but the whole swimming in the dirty water thing turns my stomach!! on teh whole great place.

lots and lots of animals!! http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/camden/primrose-hill/tourist-attractions/london-zoo-nw14ry.html#r21467 I have always loved going to London Zoo, it always feels like somewhere special. There is loads to see and do. The animals all look well loved and are fantastic to see. It is like a little oasis in the city. It is expensive, especially the food and drink and of course the gift shop but defiantly worth a visit.

London Zoo http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/camden/primrose-hill/tourist-attractions/london-zoo-nw14ry.html#r17408 I liked this place, even if to see the animals in hutchs make me feel a little bit sad. London Zoo is the world's oldest scientific zoo. When it was opened this Zoo was originally intended to be used as a collection for scientific study. Today it houses a collection of 704 species of animals, with 16,802 individuals, making it one of the largest collections in the United Kingdom.

Fun Day Out http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/camden/primrose-hill/tourist-attractions/london-zoo-nw14ry.html#r17112 I went there on a freezing cold day in November but still had a lot of fun!

The gorillas were awesome, you could get really close and it was fun watching the silverback run up and down and start hitting the glass, praying it wouldn't break!!

I went on a Saturday and it was quite empty, maybe to do with the weather - no-one was crazy enough to go on a cold winter's day!

It's nicely laid out, not too big so you don't get lost, and we managed to do most of it in a few hours. Various zoo keepers were wandering around, some with Monkey's on leads, some holding tarantulas and other creepy crawlies, so you could really get up close to some of the animals.

Would recommend it for a fun day out with family or friends.

Gorillas, Pygmy Hippos, what more could you ask? http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/camden/primrose-hill/tourist-attractions/london-zoo-nw14ry.html#r2727 I'd not been to London Zoo before I visited recently and I have to say I was very impressed.

For a whole day's entertainment and well put-together displays it is actually quite reasonably priced, marking it out from a lot of other London tourist spots.

It was the new gorilla enclosure that attracted me to go, which they have been advertising heavily. A well-designed enclosure means you can actually get pretty close to a full-grown silver back running up and down shouting (the silverback, not the visitors) - an excellent experience. Similarly, there is a monkey enclosure where you can actually walk around with no barriers between the monkeys and the visitors!

As with all these places, if you value the contents of your wallet don't even think about buying anything from the gift shop, but that's par for the course.

A top day out.

Best zoo in u.k http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/camden/primrose-hill/tourist-attractions/london-zoo-nw14ry.html#r2139 Situated along he canal surrounded by other tourist attraction sites. Great way to see animals in their natural environment. Monkeys are my favourite animals because they really fascinate me how they are the only mammals similar to humans, the feeding times for the apes is really nice to watch. This zoo also has penguins which is a rare animal to have in the u.k!..very fascinating..
