<![CDATA[Greater London - Hackney - Reviews]]> http://www.welovelocal.com Reviews from welovelocal.com en Top Quality http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/hackney/stoke-newington/opticians/s-h-davis-n160ap.html#r51957 I have been attending this Optician's practice since the age of 15 in 1976! It's a relief to know he's still located at the same surgery, as continuity in healthcare is very important in my view. He always remembers all aspects of his patient's health, and as a Diabetic who needs speacial eye exams, I find him very caring, thorough and professional. He always chats to you in a friendly way, is never rushed, and even answers the phone himself sometimes to book appointments, and remembers you after you haven't seen him for ages!! Personal service that is much appreciated in these times of dogmatic NHS style conveyor belt treatment. Highly recommended. Mr Davis' lovely wife is often on the reception desk too, and is very helpful when selecting new specs or any problems you may have. A quality service, and much needed locally.

WOW! http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/hackney/hoxton/vietnamese-restaurants/mien-tay-e28dp.html#r51878 Forget the other places on Kingland Road - this will blow you away! Top notch food easily on par with any central London top dollar restaurant. It isso cheap, we had loads of amazing dishes and it came to just a tenner each! bonus!

My Favourite Hairdressers http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/hackney/hackney/hairdressers/luuly-hair-e83ns.html#r51846 the staff are very friendly and polite. you get star treatment meaning that they treat every indidual customer with care and attention. they are very helpful when it comes to choosing styles and colours . they are easy to get to as the are positioned central of hackney and have many means of public transport. But most of all very reasonable prices i've been going there for years and i dont even live in hackney any more .

The best of the bunch http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/hackney/hoxton/vietnamese-restaurants/viet-hoa-cafe-e28dp.html#r51454 It can be a bit tricky to know which Vietnamese restaurant to pick as the block is lined with them on either side, but this is definitely my favourite. I've been going here for about 8 years now. I am a bit of a bore when it comes to ordering food and tend to stick to what I know - deliciously fresh Vietnamese summer rolls, soft shell crab (really spicy and garlicky) and deep fried tilapia. The staff are fantastic here, plus they are really quick with doing you a takeaway (no home delivery, alas).

Hoxton nonsense http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/hackney/hoxton/cafes/macondo-n16nu.html#r51451 It's fine to cosy up on the sofa with a coffee, but the menu is so overpriced and very little to choose from. I could never bring myself to eat here, not with Yelo Thai next door which does absolutely amazing food for about half the price!

Avoid at all costs http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/hackney/shoreditch/bike-shops/brick-lane-bikes-e26dg.html#r50547 I can only echo the previous two reviews. The most shockingly rude, hostile, arrogant and incompetent bunch of ar5eholes you would ever be unfortunate enough to deal with. I used them a few times (through laziness, they're very local) and they fell below expectations each time, but the last time they screwed my bike up when doing a repair, which caused me to nearly kill myself, then refused to accept any responsibility. I ended up having to threaten them with the small claims court. They repaid me (the faulty repairs only - no additional costs I incurred), but without any apology or acknowledgement. In fact, I had to deal with their insurance broker and insurer directly to get it sorted out. They are an absolute shower.

Rude, Agressive, Unwelcoming http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/hackney/shoreditch/bike-shops/brick-lane-bikes-e26dg.html#r50080 I chose to use this shop due to its convenient location and the areas general reputation of being warm and welcoming. I have given it three chances, “third time lucky”. Every time I have used Brick Lane Bikes a new cost is added onto simple repairs. Repairs that they got wrong in the first place. Staff are not willing to help if you have a problem and will leave you waiting, ignoring you constantly, making you feel unwelcome. After my third simple repair went wrong causing danger to myself, I went back to receive the same “warm welcoming” of I didn’t fix this for you, it’s not my problem, come back tomorrow. Its funny when people are reluctant to give you a service that you want to pay them for. I will be taking myself somewhere else from now on.

A home from home http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/hackney/dalston/turkish-restaurants/somine-restaurant-e82pb.html#r47513 Fantastic! I adore this place...which is probably why I am there at least once a week and am now dragging all my mates and family members there...and not a disappointed one yet! the food is delicious, the atmosphere is great and always changing. A great place to chat, gossip or just read a book and watch the fabulously entertaining dalston peeps go about their business. I must also commend the staff on being lovely and attentive (and for knowing my order by heart). Brilliant, keep it up boys.
