<![CDATA[Greater London - Islington - Tufnell Park - Reviews]]> http://www.welovelocal.com Reviews from welovelocal.com en best pizza in north london http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/islington/tufnell-park/european-restaurants/stingray-cafe-nw52hr.html#r49751 This little known place has really delicious food and I must say the pizza is fantastic! I am a pizza fan and can say this is one of the very best! It's great value for money too. You can eat and have a drink for under £10. The staff are quite friendly and the atmosphere is very relaxing. I did not expect to find such a place in the area but this place is worth a visit.

Gem in North London http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/islington/tufnell-park/pubs/the-lord-palmerston-nw51hu.html#r48589 I have lived in the Kentish Town/Tufnell Park area for almost 7 years and always ventured to the surrounding locations of Angel or Hampstead for an afternoon drink or an evening meal.

However I chanced upon this modern yet traditional pub a month or so ago and I regret not finding it sooner.

First of all, it is worth mentioning that it is beautifully decorated, tasteful and light. Whilst this is a girly thing to say – the decoration and layout of the pub creates a very welcoming and friendly atmosphere. One of the best things is that it has a vast amount of space, with three separate, but linked areas and a cute garden area. There is the glorious conservatory at the back of the pub which is the heart of the restaurant. It looks out to the garden and is especially enchanting at night. In addition there is a very homey room, perfect for having a pint and reading the papers on a Sunday afternoon; and then there is the bar – large, open and plenty of space.

The food was a real surprise, as it does not sell itself from the outside as a gastropub, but is one of the best gastropubs I have been too. Almost all of the food is locally or UK sourced and the recipes are innovative and excellent proportioned! If a little too much on the odd occasion. My favourite is the homemade porkpie. Forget what you get in the supermarkets - this is made with succulent, large chunks of meat and served with homemade piccalilli and mash. But don’t let this fool you in to thinking that the food is all about comfort. It’s not. There are light, delicate dishes which are equally as good.

The only negative point I have to say (well, the boyfriend has to say) is that the television is too small for watching the rugby or football properly.

That said, I highly recommend this to anyone in the area, or who are thinking of travelling to the Heath. Stay the Kentish Town side of the Heath and check this out. It wont let you down.

Top marks http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/islington/tufnell-park/spanish-restaurants/del-parc-n195pz.html#r10759 This tiny, unassuming restaurant between Tuffnell Park and Archway stations is a true word of mouth success story.

One Chef (on full view) One waiter (working his arse off) Wonderfully fresh ingredients (all on display in the open kitchen)

Its a unique place and well worth a visit. I would book a few days in advance though, especially at weekends

Great north London find http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/islington/tufnell-park/spanish-restaurants/del-parc-n195pz.html#r10229 I have to agree with the previous reviews - this tiny little place is an amazing North London find.

There are only a small number of tables here, so booking is essential, but well worth it.

The food is cooked by one chef in a small kitchen in the centre of the restaurant, so you can see it all happening in front of you. This sometimes means that you have to wait your turn for your order, but if you sit and soak up the atmosphere you wont be disappointed.

Rude http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/islington/tufnell-park/doctors/h-kateb-n195ew.html#r9664 My first and only experience with Dr Kateb ended after 5 minutes with him stating that lots of people use the internet to take care of problems, suggesting I should have done the same rather than making an appointment with him about a long-lasting infection. Unbelievable and arrogant
