<![CDATA[Greater London - Lambeth - Clapham - Eating, Drinking and Nightlife - Reviews]]> http://www.welovelocal.com Reviews from welovelocal.com en Will be eating here again http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/lambeth/clapham/continental-restaurants/banana-leaf-canteen-sw111hn.html#r55138 The food was great, the service was good and I love the shared "canteen" style seating. A nice informal and comfortable setting to eat your meal

It is open till 11pm, ideal if you work late and fancy some quality food on the way home or if you are out and about in Clapham Junction and want to finish off the evening with an excellent meal.

Its about 10 minutes walk from Clapham Junction Station so easy to get to - there is no excuse not to try it out if you travel through this part of town regularly!

The queues can be long during peak times so best to book a table or plan your visit to avoid the crowds.

I will definitely be eating here again and introducing many of my friends to this great little restaurant.

If It's Good Enough For Mark Owen http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/lambeth/clapham/cafes/crumpet-sw116ql.html#r53043 Decided on Crumpet for a Saturday morning brunch and wasn't disappointed. The thing the lured me in was the person sitting outside with Eggs Benedict - it looked good and made with bacon over ham how could you resist.

It is open and airy inside and although one half (the back) is sectioned off for children, prams and babies this didn't put me off. The front section is reserved for adults and is far enough away to hear yourself think.

Nice range of cakes, food and drinks all with organic theme and all pretty tasty. I went for the Eggs Benedict and and a fresh Orange juice, my fellow diner the same plus a banana milkshake. Drinks portions were small but food was nice and generous.

When I ventured to the back of the cafe to use the facilities I realised that the guy sitting at a child's table with his wife and kid was Mark Owen! Well, if it's good enough for Mark it's definitely good enough for me!

Crumpet is a winner!

Disgrace http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/lambeth/clapham/cafes/cafe-brew-sw111nj.html#r47204 I went in for breakfast last weekend. I have been to Brew before and have generally had a good experience. Sadly last weekend finished this place off for me. I arrived and was asked what I wanted. I was given no menu so just turned around said I would like a cup of tea, orange juice and scrambled eggs and a sausage. I can't really complain about the food as it wasn't bad, but wasn't out of this world.

The problem was when I went to pay - I was charged £14.50!

How the hell can they justify charging someone £14.50 for breakfast. There are some nice places for breakfast around clapham junction but this takes the P$$$. how can you charge these prices! A disgrace!

Well Healed http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/lambeth/clapham/restaurant-bars/lost-society-sw83jf.html#r41407 There are quite a few late night bars/clubs in this part of Clapham/Battersea borders.

This is more upmarket than the neighbouring Artesian Well and Inigo. The owners have spent a small fortune on redesigning the interior and it looks grand.

The food and cocktail lists are excellent and give many central London bars a run for their money.

There's also a great terrace for alfresco eating/smoking

Poor service Rude staff http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/lambeth/clapham/fast-food-delivery/dominos-pizza-sw111ee.html#r39623 If you are after a Dominos that delivers on time, provides polite service and is hot on arrival. Do NOT choose this Dominos on Battersea Rise. Its the worst take away pizza place I have ever used. The management are as rude as the staff and the prices are twice as much as other local take away pizza places.

Great location http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/lambeth/clapham/pubs/the-falcon-sw111ru.html#r38805 This is a local pub right near the train station, so if you've missed one then its too easy to pop in here for a quick one, or an even longer one and forget the train altogether. Theres nothing to specail about it but no drink soaked carpets like you might expect.

Well funky http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/lambeth/clapham/pubs/the-holy-drinker-sw111np.html#r38803 This is friendly and unpretentious in here with a very relaxed vibe, its also buzzing on key nights, like friday and saturday, but that adds to it, especially if you are on the pull, people say londoners arent friendly, thats so not the case in here. Cool sofas in interior too.

Lush Food http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/lambeth/clapham/pubs/the-goat-sw111eq.html#r38799 I love it in here when its heaving, its got that real young london vibe to it, i like the fact there are separate levels so if you want a chat and catch up over food then head on upstairs to where its a little quiter. The food is great especially if theres a group of you and you want to share plates.
