Hard Traditional Boozer http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/southwark/walworth/pubs/the-masons-arms-se172sb.html#r50240 old fashioned boozer, different times of day bring differing punters, with a bustleing market outside daily except mondays. Can be boring in weekday evenings, not always busy, however weekends can be good with disco or karokie. they got benches outside for smokers but no shelter from elements. Staff friendly and down to earth but not always on the ball, dubious persons pop in and sell a wide variety of goods from dubious origins most days, personally not the place of choice to bring family or colleagues, still a good spot to chill.

Absolutely delicious Chinese food - the menu is massive! http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/southwark/walworth/chinese-restaurants/dragon-castle-se171jl.html#r47050 The most difficult thing about this place is possibly negotiating Elephant and Castle to get there. Then the next most difficult thing is figuring out what to eat, as the menu is really quite immense, and I'm fairly useless at choosing what to eat when there's more than about 5 choices!

I settled for some garlic and honey ribs - lovely sauce and not too fatty. Followed by scallops with stuffed prawns, fried rice and some soup. All absolutely delicious, about £20 a head, although we didn't drink. Not massively cheap, and if I had a bit more cash, I'd be tempted to try out some of the more exotic food items like the sea cucumber.

I'll be back at lunchtime to check out the dim sum here!

Worth the visit from town http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/southwark/walworth/chinese-restaurants/dragon-castle-se171jl.html#r9597 I've been to the Dragon Castle a number of times and after a poor first showing (I wouldn't recommend having the steamed fish) it's kept on impressing!

The menu is massive so plenty of choice for everyone and includes all your standard Chinese fair aswell as food for those looking for something a bit out of the ordinary (or lovers of tripe). The prices are cheap enough to encourage exploration - order three dishes, keep on sampling from the menu and you're not going to leave unhappy; and certainly not feeling empty.

Dodgy road - but well worth the visit! http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/southwark/walworth/indian-restaurants/tower-tandoori-se14tp.html#r8951 Very much a diamond in the rough (the extremely rough).

Sitting in amongst dodgy looking pubs, fried chicken shops and other such fun the restaurant stands out massively and once you get inside you feel like you could easily be much further up the road in Borough; but with far better prices :>

Alongside your normal curry house fair the specials are also well worth trying (and seem to change on a regular basis so are always good and seasonal).

With friendly staff who are clearly ecstatic to work there, great food and good prices the only downside is when you leave and you remember where you are!
