Earsfield Boxing Club Past Champions http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/wandsworth/wandsworth/sports-clubs/earlsfield-amateur-boxing-club-sw184dw.html#r53542 Does anyone remember my father Freddie Woodman who boxed for this club in the 1950s? He was and still is the only Boxer to win 9 Successive ABA South East London Titles at Feather weight. He even boxed against Dave Charnley at the Albert Hall and Knocked him out of the ring before being disqualified. Dave Charnley went on to fight for a World Title! If you remember him and can tell me any information about him please let me know. paul.woodman@fly.virgin.com

A new Salon http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/wandsworth/wandsworth/beauty-consultants/jackie-hylton-sw181la.html#r53326 This is a new salon and they were keen to find out which treatments were the most popular from women.

Treatments like dthe facial ,took longer than it would have done at a more mature salon.

But hey! as i was in desperate need of some me time away from work, home & my wedding plans I wasn't complaining!

The products used were ok, not outstanding, they did the job. I would visit them again in say 6 months time to see whats new.

It would have been useful to know that transport links were best, as parking was a nightmare.

Mystifyingly Empty http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/wandsworth/wandsworth/fish-chip-shops/the-fish-club-sw111th.html#r53182 Worringly, we were the only customers at 1pm on a Saturday afternoon, but the food and service wasn't a disappointment.

Good, almost traditional fish & chips with a choice of fish from coley, whiting & others.

The batter was really crispy and light with chips that were really chunky and not over fried.

The home-made tartare sauce was excellent and the staff friendly and helpful. Great mushy peas too.

Pub Quiz + BBQ http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/wandsworth/wandsworth/pubs/the-ship-sw181tb.html#r52523 The is one of our regulars - especially brilliant in the summer months when you fancy some good ole' BBQ food after work with a cold drink outside on their terrace area.

Reccomend the pub quiz during the week too in the winter ... some good local teams so get your thinking caps on.

Great Food http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/wandsworth/wandsworth/indian-restaurants/the-chutney-sw181aa.html#r52522 We discovered this place through Top Table and WOW what a find.

We got 50% off our first booking through them and it's now become one of our regular haunts.

Took my girlfriend to Bennaris (Atul Kutchers place) for her birthday and I honestly believe the food at The Chutney was better.

Top value and great staff - try it.

Bad service from Bathstore http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/wandsworth/wandsworth/bathroom-fittings/bathstorecom-sw113qu.html#r40529 Having gone over budget on our bathroom we decided to return our luxury taps. Having checked with the store in Wimbledon that a returns policy existed they assured us that we'd be fine. When I handed the taps over one of the boxes had minor damage. The sales assistant said she was sure it would be ok, and that if I didn't hear back from them within 5 days the refund would be paid. On hearing nothing and receiving nothing I called twice over the next 2 weeks and was assured the money was on it's way. Three months later I check my account and nothing shows from them. I called and the taps never left the shop for the warehouse. Bathstore are refusing to pay us back because of one tiny box defect. They were rude and dismissive, even after keeping me in the dark for 3 months. Good choice of products, terrible service, terrible policies.

Superb friendly local that has it all http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/wandsworth/wandsworth/pubs/the-royal-standard-sw181al.html#r28725 This pub has it all! A very friendly landlord/landlady team, amiable and knowledgable bar staff, a popular oche, 3 screens for sports (the largest of which has recently become popular for Wii games) and they also allow you to eat your own take away/delivery food in the pub providing plates, cutlery, sauces etc. A novel idea in a non-food pub.

The ales change fairly regularly. On my visit they were serving well kept Timothy Taylor's Landlord and a drop of Cornwall's finest - St Austell Tribute as well as the usual lagers - Heineken, Fosters etc.

The pub is found on a quiet side street less than 100m from Wandsworth Town Station and is simply furnished with wooden boards and plenty of interesting music themed posters/art prints/postcards on the walls. When the weather is fine the landlord is happy for tables and chairs to be moved outside.

What more could you ask for? A 5 star pub if ever there was one.
