<![CDATA[Greater London - Wandsworth - Wandsworth - Eating, Drinking and Nightlife - Pubs - Reviews]]> http://www.welovelocal.com Reviews from welovelocal.com en Pub Quiz + BBQ http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/wandsworth/wandsworth/pubs/the-ship-sw181tb.html#r52523 The is one of our regulars - especially brilliant in the summer months when you fancy some good ole' BBQ food after work with a cold drink outside on their terrace area. Reccomend the pub quiz during the week too in the winter ... some good local teams so get your thinking caps on.

Superb friendly local that has it all http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/wandsworth/wandsworth/pubs/the-royal-standard-sw181al.html#r28725 This pub has it all! A very friendly landlord/landlady team, amiable and knowledgable bar staff, a popular oche, 3 screens for sports (the largest of which has recently become popular for Wii games) and they also allow you to eat your own take away/delivery food in the pub providing plates, cutlery, sauces etc. A novel idea in a non-food pub. The ales change fairly regularly. On my visit they were serving well kept Timothy Taylor's Landlord and a drop of Cornwall's finest - St Austell Tribute as well as the usual lagers - Heineken, Fosters etc. The pub is found on a quiet side street less than 100m from Wandsworth Town Station and is simply furnished with wooden boards and plenty of interesting music themed posters/art prints/postcards on the walls. When the weather is fine the landlord is happy for tables and chairs to be moved outside. What more could you ask for? A 5 star pub if ever there was one.

Hidden little Jem http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/wandsworth/wandsworth/pubs/the-cats-back-sw181nn.html#r17953 This is a great little pub not far from the river behind the one way system in Wandsworth. They've got a great menu with a variety of things, from snacks like pita and humus, to full on Sunday Roasts. It's really cosy in the winter because they have a fire. The decoration is quite fun, very eclectic.

Rugby Pub http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/wandsworth/wandsworth/pubs/the-alma-sw181tf.html#r15549 Fantastic place to watch England Rugby matches. Does get seriously packed so get in there early and line up the pints, and try to sit near the bar. Out of rugby days, it's a good gastro pub with good British food and a fine selection of beers.

BBQ-tastic http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/wandsworth/wandsworth/pubs/the-ship-sw181tb.html#r15541 The Ship is a super spot in the summer, teaming with people all flocking for the river side views and the awesome BBQs. Little known is the side dinning room which is great for parties in the winter and out of the way. They also do table service. Happy Times.

Not Sunday best http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/wandsworth/wandsworth/pubs/the-county-arms-sw183sh.html#r14444 One of those places which you head to with absolute certainty of getting a just-what-the-doctor-ordered Sunday roast, safe in the knowledge that you’ll be able to get a table and there won’t be anything unpredictable on your plate for your poorly little hungover head to deal with, only to leave a bit disappointed and deflated. It’s a big, interior-design-for-pubs-by-numbers eating hole (you know the sort; twigs in a vase, weird bally things in a bowl) with pleasant enough staff, but the sort of atmosphere which is more Harvester conveyor belt (slop it out, get them out), than the gastro experience to which it so aspires. When your food is dumped in a heap in the centre of your plate, your meat more fatty than lean and your stomach rumbling 40 minutes after you’ve ordered what is tantamount to a carvery, you can’t help but conclude that the only thing which is gastro about The County Arms is the price (£18 for a two course set Sunday lunch and £13 for a roast should raise the eyebrows on even the most beer-ruined face).

Good food, nice pub http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/wandsworth/wandsworth/pubs/the-alma-sw181tf.html#r12519 Lovely pub. I can't recommended highly enough. Good menu, great atmosphere. Lovely for catch ups, big groups and sunday lunch or couples wanted to quietly read the papers and sip their beers in peace. A function room upstairs is of a good size (capcity about 80 people) and decked out is a nice non-offensive neutral fashion. Great for hire for watch sporting events with a large group or private party. They are licenced for civil weddings ! Hey its an option. Cheap too at £150 for the room. Food is good, staff are warm and friendly. Worth checking out !.

check it out, decent food, nice decor http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/wandsworth/wandsworth/pubs/the-east-hill-sw181aa.html#r12509 I booked a table for Sunday lunch here for a group of friends to celebrate my birthday.

Lovely looking place and very pleasent atmosphere and service.

Our order seemed to take quite a while to arrive, perhaps that was due to the size of our table... but the drinks were going down well.

The food was very good, the pork belly, roast chicken and shepherds pie all scored highly on the yum scale. And I enjoyed the veggie option (mushroom & goat's cheese), the smell when the dishes were served were delightful.

Mains priced from £8-£11, very reasonable. and a great selection of beers and wine.

Nice decor and a mix of families, young professionals and older locals. I understand there is a pub quiz on Sunday evenings, but we didn't stay long enough to join in.

I managed to reserve our table on line with the manager and the communication was really good, very quick.

Although, now I've made it home, a little wobbly, I've realised I've left a birthday present under the table. I'm still trying to get in touch via phone with the pub, the phone line is constantly engaged (internet ?), hopefully my present will be handed into the bar, and I'll be able to pick it up...

Nice enough staff, good food and lovely atmosphere. Definately worth checking out.

Nice Gastro Pub http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/wandsworth/wandsworth/pubs/the-alma-sw181tf.html#r3402 Beautiful little pub. Lovely private dining room upstairs. Corner position means it's light and sunny throughout the pub. Feels very London. Perfect for those sundays when you want a nice lunch followed by a stroll and a look in some random boutiquey shops - the street the Alma's on feels quite villagey and it's very pretty.
