<![CDATA[Greater London - Westminster - Mayfair - Reviews]]> http://www.welovelocal.com Reviews from welovelocal.com en Not your everyday restaurant but you should eat here at least once http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/westminster/mayfair/european-restaurants/maze-w1k6us.html#r55742 One of the most inventive menu's that I have seen in London!

For once I decided to break out of the safe comfort of the tasting menu and choose my own from the a la carte - dishes such as 'Assiette of sandwiches ‘BLT ’and Croque monsieur', 'Braised shin of veal, wild garlic risotto and veal kidney powder' and 'Peanut butter and cherry jam sandwich with salted nuts and cherry sorbet' (all pictured on this site) were just too tempting.

While this did lead to a rather hefty bill (I had 8 courses) I did have EIGHT courses, so this should be expected.

While portions are not huge they are good enough for several mouth-fuls, and with such delicate flavours they should be savoured.

The dining room is great and relaxing and staff are friendly. A 'must go' restaurant in my view (just save up before going would be my advice!)

waxing / staff http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/westminster/mayfair/tanning-salon/the-tanning-shop-w1s1aa.html#r55588 The maddox street and dering street branches are owned by the same person, Andrew Wells - he is very helpful, fair and stands by his word. The salons are a pleasure to go to as he knows how to treat his customers well and employs some nice staff. The former manager, Nicole, from the maddox street branch has now moved to the dering street branch - she is lovely. However if you are unfortunate to encounter Andrew Wells wife on the front desk, you will lose your patience - she has no customer service etiquette, she is rude, has no understanding of customers needs for tanning or waxing and will only recommend the most expensive tanning lotions for the sunbeds. She is argumentative ! If you are going for hot waxing, ask for Maria who is usually at the maddox street branch. Camilla is good to ask for too -she is experienced and will explain all about waxing etc.

Great Food on the Marie Celeste http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/westminster/mayfair/restaurant-bars/levant-bar-restaurant-w1u1jj.html#r54884 We went here for Saturday lunch. It was 1.30pm, only a fw moutes walk away ppl were queing for tables in Carluccio's and even at Pizza Express. We were the only customers at Levant and had to seek someone out to serve us, it was like the Marie Celeste. Not a good sign. Food was delicious tho. the falafel and hummus were among the best I've ever tasted and the moussakka was full of delicate flavours. It's not cheap - £12.95 set menu for lunch. And they'll sting you on drinks. But it's mazing food and an oasis of calm amidst the bustle of west London.

British http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/westminster/mayfair/tourist-attractions/buckingham-palace-sw1a1aa.html#r54581 Really, really breathtaking and beautiful. Didn't get a chance to go in there, but I wish I did. It is enormous. I went to see the changing of the guard ceremony, held there everyday. I was really surprised at the hundreds of people that went there. If going i'd recommend getting there early as otherwise you'll only get a glimpse of what's happening. Fun to go and watch, slightly pointless but very British!

As a whole, I grunt, some of the seperate parts, I smile http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/westminster/mayfair/department-stores/selfridges-w1c1js.html#r54415 Without being one of those guys that repeats all of the above, yes it is a little overpriced in some parts. But the quality of service I got when purchasing my Dior suit from here was outstanding. It was as if we had been friends for years. I was treated like a customer should be, and was made to feel extremely welcome.

The quality of the suit, amazing, the atmosphere, fantastic. Obviously it being a large department store this can differ from each part, but I've received the same kind of service in most of it. So I'm certainly not complaining.
