<![CDATA[Greater London - Westminster - Soho - Eating, Drinking and Nightlife - Japanese Restaurants - Reviews]]> http://www.welovelocal.com Reviews from welovelocal.com en Sakura restaurant sucks http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/westminster/soho/japanese-restaurants/sakura-w1s1yf.html#r55818 Sakura Japanese restaurant is the worst japanese restaurant I have ever been in my life. Awful services! I arrived the restaurant in the afternoon. And I and my frd requested another table due to the noisy environment. We sat down, and one of the staff came and requested us to move to another table due to the closure of the particular area. We moved to a 4 person table and the manager came to us, and took our menus away from us very rudely, without saying a word, and forced us to another table which is the original one. We refused and the guy just stared at us very rudely. I can never believe I have ever been to a restaurant like this!

P.S. Customers are required to pay 17.5 % VAT

Geisya http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/westminster/soho/japanese-restaurants/geisya-w1d4qg.html#r55440 Lovely friendly staff who attended to my every need. Food was amazing and very unexpected considering how quiet and hidden this restaurant it, and also good prices! The sushi and sashimi were very good and the best i have tried in the picadilly area. Recommended for anyone wanting a delicious, quiet meal away from the busyness of piccadilly. Will definately go again!

Fantastic value sushi http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/westminster/soho/japanese-restaurants/yoshino-co-uk-w1j0db.html#r54765 One of the many shops in the Japan Centre building, located just off Piccadilly Circus, Yoshino offers arguably the best value and tastiest sushi in London. Trays of 8 sushi pieces can be had for as little as £3 - truly amazing when compared with the other high street sushi chains.

The Japan Centre has had a revamp recently and Yoshino now sells sushi from a shop directly off Piccadilly (an extension to the Japan Centre building) as well as its original basement location within the original Japan Centre building. If you want the most choice (and likely the freshest trays) I'd strongly recommend you head straight for the basement.

One final note, Yoshino should not be confused with the ground floor restaurant that is run by a different company.

Nice Mushroom Rice http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/westminster/soho/japanese-restaurants/kobe-jones-wc1b3na.html#r52246 Kobe Jones is now Hakuba, and I think it's a pity that it was pretty much empty when we went - Friday evening.

I dont really understand this cos the food wasnt bad, and we went there with a top table voucher... it should be packed with people. But it was just .. empty.

Their 'japanese' food was ok... not very appealing to me. Maybe its fusion?? I just find it a bit too average.... nothing worth comment on really apart from their mushroom rice in a hot pot, which was yummy, and exciting.

I almost feel bad when the chef opened the door for us when we left...

It is still a mystery of why its so empty on a Friday.

Unpretentious but good http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/westminster/soho/japanese-restaurants/kulu-kulu-sushi-w1f9tx.html#r51485 The nkind of place you'd expect Harrison Ford in Blade Runner to pop into. a bit like eating in a cupboard, it's very small, but for a quick lunch with a friend (probably best to keep the numbers low as you can't really form a crowd here) it's perfect. Food is fresh and tasty, tea is good, prices very reasonable by London standards. Love it.

Fresh and Good http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/westminster/soho/japanese-restaurants/wagamama-w1f0ld.html#r36727 Why review this wagamama over another wagamama? Probably down to the location – it’s in the middle of Soho and has been around for some time. It doesn’t get too busy and you’ll see the odd celeb in hear now and again – not that it’s a good thing.

The food is top notch, as fresh as always and the staff are always happy and super efficient. I’ve been there a few times over the past year and the food was good.

Misato http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/westminster/soho/japanese-restaurants/misato-w1d6pg.html#r28945 Misato isn’t much to look at - it has an almost canteen-like appearance, with Barbie dolls arranged on the counter. However, the queue, which spills out on to the pavement, would suggest that there is a bit more to it. The menu offers a nice selection of classic Japanese dishes such as sushi, but the portion sizes are definitely western.

Mix Sushi and Sashimi http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/westminster/soho/japanese-restaurants/ten-ten-tei-w1f9tj.html#r25702 The menu comprises a mix of sushi and sashimi, rice and noodle dishes, with a range of intriguing specials. We had the colourful platters of sushi we saw being carted to adjacent tables, a combination of glistening pieces of salmon, tuna, mackerel, salmon roe and prawn, as well as more unusual fish such as turbot, red snapper, cuttle fish and scallop.
