<![CDATA[Greater London - Westminster - Westminster - Public Services, Education & Careers - Post Office - Reviews]]> http://www.welovelocal.com Reviews from welovelocal.com en "Cashier number 352, please" http://www.welovelocal.com/en/london/westminster/westminster/post-office/post-office-sw1h0ax.html#r3119 Yes, you're right, I'm exaggerating. There are probably only nine or ten cashier points at this important Post Office, but that's still seven or eight more than you get at most branches. (Those that remain open, of course.) And, unusually, they're almost all occupied, even during lunchtime. Unusual fact number two is that on the evidence of my visits, the staff are knowledgeable and helpful, two attributes that are simply inexcusable at some POs I've had the misfortune to have to visit.

On the flipside, this is a very busy PO. Queues of 30-40 tired looking people snaking out of the door and on to the street are not uncommon. At peak periods, you can expect to spend 20+ minutes of your life standing in line between old-fashioned 'gondolas' stacked with DL seal-easi envelopes and bumper packs of post-it notes, and loads of posters with those fucking ants trying to sell you car insurance.

In summary, if you just need to buy a stamp, go to a corner shop (or send an email). If you need to send an Express AirPack to Patagonia by Recorded Mailsort Plus, get there early.
