<![CDATA[North West - Manchester - Manchester - Eating, Drinking and Nightlife - Indian Restaurants - Reviews]]> http://www.welovelocal.com Reviews from welovelocal.com en This & That http://www.welovelocal.com/en/nw/manchester/manchester/indian-restaurants/this-that-m41ew-1.html#r13086 This is Manchester's best kept secret and can be infuriating to find! It's a cafeteria style Indian restaurant down a very small side street. The facilities can only be described as basic but the food is amazing! It's cheap, authentic South Indian food and you get to choose from a selection of curries served on plastic plates. If you're really hungry you can add a chapati or naan to your meal but it still won't cost more than £5. Water is given free of charge. You won't want to visit the toilets but once you've eaten here once you'll join the ranks of the many This & That devotees!

no go area http://www.welovelocal.com/en/nw/manchester/manchester/indian-restaurants/hanaan-m145al.html#r6168 I went to this restaurant with my boyfriend and his Father. I wanted to go somewhere nice where and respectable where I could get to know my boyfriends family and make a good impression. The waiter who took our drinks orders and stood quite impossingly at the end of our table. After her left our food took over an hour to arrive and it was nothing in write home about. The waiters had an arguement in their own language at our table and hit each other and made us all feel very uncomfortable. I've never eaten a curry so fast in all my life! We left quickly and I won't be repeating that experience any time soon.

No Gimmicks http://www.welovelocal.com/en/nw/manchester/manchester/indian-restaurants/lal-qila-m145an.html#r6143 It can be hard to stand out among the myriad asian restaurants which fill Manchester's'curry mile'. Neon signs are all the rage, and maitre d's tout for business in the street. L'al Qila manages to stand out by virtue of good cooking and very reasonable prices, rather than cheap gimmicks. Service is quick, and stays on the right side of attentiveness. There's plenty of seating, so diners shouldn't face too much of a wait. Not a huge amount of attention has been paid to decor, but that shouldn't put anyone off visiting this simple but pleasant restaurant.

Spicing up Rusholme http://www.welovelocal.com/en/nw/manchester/manchester/indian-restaurants/spicy-hut-m145tb.html#r6059 It is hard for a restaurant to stand out in Manchester's crowded curry mile, but with an inventive menu and superb chefs, Spicy Hut has managed to carve out an impressive niche for itself. Also operating a busy takeaway service, Spicy Hut offers a range of Pakistani dishes, with an emphasis on flavour rather than mouth-burning madrasses. Visitors should take advantage of the unusual ingredients and dishes, to spice up the Rusholme experience.
