Supporting the Arts http://www.welovelocal.com/en/nw/manchester/manchester/theatres/the-green-room-m15ww.html#r6108 A small theatre specialising in new and experimental performances by local and touring companies, The Green Room provides a great deal of resources to support the arts in Manchester. A bustling and pleasant coffee bar attracts plenty of visitors, while live bands play on the balcony on many evenings. Prices are good, and visitors are guaranteed an interesting night out.

Theatre http://www.welovelocal.com/en/nw/manchester/manchester/theatres/royal-exchange-theatre-m27dh.html#r8499 The Royal Exchange is a truly unique theatre, with a consistently excellent output. The main theatre is a modern structure within the old exchange building. All the plays here are performed "in the round" so feel very intimate and you really do get close to the action. However, some of the seats can be slightly uncomfortable particularly on the higher levels. There are a handful of seats at most that have a restricted view of the stage. The Studio puts on some of the more one-off and unusual productions, that Manchester plays host to. It's a great place to see works by upcoming producers and independants. The set and production design at the Royal Exchange are second to none, and the plays I have seen here never failed to impress. Concessions are offered to under 25's for shows on a Monday. Although that is no use to me, but it might appeal to some.
