Thorndon Country Park is a great day out, without the expense. The beautiful woodland and countryside trails are great to walk or cycle with the kids. The gift shop has a selection of souveniers and a display area with information & interactive exhibits about the park & wildlife. Light refreshments are sold at the Countryside Centre as well as the South Pavilion Kiosk. There are great picnic & BBQ areas, especially a sectioned off area for children, where no dogs are allowed. Throughout the year the park also runs seasonal wildlife events, especially catering for the little ones. This is a cheap, great day out for both kids and adults all for only £2 (the cost to park your car for the day). I really think a visit to Thorndon Country Park is a perfect day out.
