Stylish but without substance http://www.welovelocal.com/en/se/canterbury/whitstable/gift-shops/frank-ct51ag.html#r22058 We've used this shop loads. The content is really good, stock changes a lot and it's normally a pleasure to shop there.

We asked the owner about ordering some product that was on display as he was out of stock of it. He promised to check in to it and phone me back. He didn't. We went back in and were promised someone would call us...no one did.

I tracked down the supplier on the internet and they delivered the £80 product without delivery cost overnight.....

Flower Power http://www.welovelocal.com/en/se/canterbury/whitstable/florists/castle-street-florist-ct52aw.html#r18218 This busy shop has a good stock. The lady serving me was really helpful and gave lots of guidance. They delivered my flower order on time and it was beautifully presented - and seemed much bigger than what i'd ordered !

Muso heaven http://www.welovelocal.com/en/se/canterbury/whitstable/record-shops/rock-bottom-records-ct51aj.html#r16394 If you're looking for rare cds and vinyl then it's much better than it's counterpart, Woolworths, a few doors down.

Certainly somewhere to pass some time leafing through the cds. If you're looking for something specific, then just ask and they'll see if they've got it or tell you where to go and get it.

One of those record shops that you talk about but sometimes never visit which is a crying shame

Boutiquey http://www.welovelocal.com/en/se/canterbury/whitstable/fashion-shops/jack-wills-ct51ag.html#r15616 A range of polo shirts and sailing gear for the Whitstable man.

A man's boutique for the trendy fashionable folk of the bubble. Deck shoes and captain's hats for everyone (i'm lying about the captain's hat, I think. I don't remember seeing any there)

Pricey clothes for what they are, you're mostly paying for the the shop's size and location. Items are available cheaper somewhere else only minus the name

Average http://www.welovelocal.com/en/se/canterbury/whitstable/supermarkets/tesco-stores-ct53ee.html#r10370 It's good in the respect that it does everything that it should. But theres little things which annoy me - such as.... they have a place there that cleans your car in the cark park - they always spray their water inconsiderately, getting you wet. And you're like "look mate, I just wanna get my shopping, get lost will ya" not that they care. Also, considering how much money they make, you'd imagine they'd be able to afford someone to go around and collect the trollies rather than leave them all over the place. The checkout service is slow as well. REALLY slow.

Florentine Fun! http://www.welovelocal.com/en/se/canterbury/whitstable/confectioners/coco-ct51ag.html#r6565 Ok I am guilty, this shop has been in my home town for a considerable amount of time (years I think?) and it was only the other day that finally ventured in - well, was kind of bullied in by my chocolate mad friend.

Both the interior and exterior are very plush and stylish - very in keeping with the rest of Harbour Street. It is sometimes very easy to miss this shop as it is at the very top of the street almost where the street ends and turns into the real harbour.

Inside it stocks all different types of chocolates from all over the place. There are fresh truffles in the fridge/counter and packaged chocolate on shelves all around the shop.

They offer unusual chocolate like chili chocolate, sea salt chocolate and many more. My fellow shopper and I opted for the fresh truffles - 'when in Rome' and all that. The lady in the shop ( the owner I think?) was really friendly and advised us on what all the chocolates were and what ones were good. They are quite pricey - well a lot pricey, so we only got a few to sample but what we did have was rather tasty.

I would highly recommend the Florentines, they were particularly yummy! They also do really cute/kitch chocolate praline horses heads and gold fish. If you are in the area it is well worth a visit - great for unique gifts.

felicity wishes heaven... http://www.welovelocal.com/en/se/canterbury/whitstable/art-craft-materials/buttercup-ct51aq.html#r8259 This shop stocks a huge amount of Felicity Wishes merchandise. For those of you who don't know what this is it is a young girls animation that embodies all that is pink and sparkly. Here they have cards, toys, books and much more. They also sell some really nice ceramics, which I have to say are a bit random amongst all the Felicity Wishes products. It is a lovely little shop none the less...
