<![CDATA[West Midlands - Birmingham - Birmingham - Eating, Drinking and Nightlife - Japanese Restaurants - Reviews]]> http://www.welovelocal.com Reviews from welovelocal.com en Gluten Free Heaven http://www.welovelocal.com/en/wm/birmingham/birmingham/japanese-restaurants/wagamama-b54ql.html#r44421 I can't believe I've finally found somewhere where i can eat a fantastic tasty meal and not be ill! The staff are so helpful and the food beats jacket potatoes (what I normally end up eating when I go out) any day. I'm a vegetarian and have to eat gluten & wheat free. The prices are really good too, thoroughly enjoyable

Yooummyy Shusi! http://www.welovelocal.com/en/wm/birmingham/birmingham/japanese-restaurants/yo-sushi-b54bp.html#r44234 I have been to selfridges many times, and tend to just do abit of shopping. Everytime I walk near the store I can smell the beautiful food, so me and my boyfriend decided that we would go an treat ourselves. I have had sushi before but my boyfriend has never tried it. We didnt have to wait that long for a seat, the waiters/waitresses were brilliant, always making sure the food was up to standard and we had a drink. The food came spinning around but you could also order whatever you wanted and it was cooked infront of you (which we really liked). The food was yummy and it was decently priced. I carnt wait to go back again. Healthy, Scrummy, Fairly Priced, Good Atmosphere and Local....Yo Sushi is No:1

Chop suey my ass http://www.welovelocal.com/en/wm/birmingham/birmingham/japanese-restaurants/shogun-teppanyaki-b12hl.html#r26465 This is a great place with a running stream through the restaurant, it made me happy. When you are there you get to watch the meal being cooked by your own personal chef... it's like karate with food, which was most entertaining. the portions don't look massive but I felt very full after eating. The beer is quite strong so don't get carried away... unless you don't mind a sore head in the morning

OMG, Try the Juices! http://www.welovelocal.com/en/wm/birmingham/birmingham/japanese-restaurants/wagamama-b54ql.html#r23800 First off, even if you're not a fan of Japanese cuisine or using chopsticks, you should at some point give Wagamamas at bullring a try. They have some options which aren't the traditional soups or seafood, and I'm a particular fan of the incredibly tasty Chicken Katsu Curry (number 71) and haven't looked back. It's ruddy delicious! I also have to recommend their juices because they're also amazing. Freshly made juice smoothies (as opposed to creamy or banana-y ones) are delicious and you can take them out too, so if you're looking for a healthy option to the Starbucks next door then they're the ones to go for! The only downside to the place is that it always seems to be incredibly busy. It's the only Wagamamas in Birmingham and the queue is often out of the door and round the corner. They can noramly seat you within about 20 mins, but on a rainy day that's not very pleasant. The staff are all quite friendly though, and there is a dish for everyone... I can also recommend asking for the frankly GENIUS children's chopsticks which join together at the top and act like tongs. I don't know why they don't hand them out to everyone!

Yum! http://www.welovelocal.com/en/wm/birmingham/birmingham/japanese-restaurants/yo-sushi-b54bp.html#r21829 This is one of those places to see and be seen.

In true style you choose your dishes as they rotate round the table. each one is priced according to what is in it and is colour coded to make it easier to add up.

If you love Sushi this place is a must.

Fast Food http://www.welovelocal.com/en/wm/birmingham/birmingham/japanese-restaurants/wagamama-b54ql.html#r19072 A great place to grab a quick bite, the seating is arranged in benches so it's quite informal and you can eat on your own or with a group of mates. It's a popular place so you might have to queue but the service is speedy so it won't be for long.

High Quality Fast Food http://www.welovelocal.com/en/wm/birmingham/birmingham/japanese-restaurants/wagamama-b54ql.html#r16465 Need a quick dinner or just something hot and healthy to give you the strength to carry on shopping ....head to Wagamama's!

Its fast, friendly and informal. Food is bought to you as soon as its cooked rather than sitting under a hot plate for 10 minutes. This does mean your food wont always arrive the same time as your friends but as long as you know this before you go the best thing to do is tuck in!

If the menu makes your head spin on your first visit try the chicken ramen. Nothing too spicy but the flavour is fantastic.

Yo Sushi http://www.welovelocal.com/en/wm/birmingham/birmingham/japanese-restaurants/yo-sushi-b54bp.html#r11884 If you are out shopping in the Bullring then this is a good place to stop off for a different lunch. It can get busy in the daytime and the meals vary in price but are a little more for the luxury of the concept. One handy hint is that towards the end of the day the prices do drop, as do the amount of people so you may get quite a bargain !

Sobar Birmingham http://www.welovelocal.com/en/wm/birmingham/birmingham/japanese-restaurants/sobar-b54td.html#r11871 Great food in the daytime and a nice place to watch the world go by but quite busy by night and you could find yourself practically crushed by the amount of people at the weekends. Another cool, place to be seen, but not somewhere you would stay all night.
