This place is the place to be on a weekend, its cheap to get in, has great live entertainment. Its suitable for all ages from young to old. Good service - not waiting at bar for long periods, would recommend

I have been the Royal many a time,and although its a right pain to get served at the bars,it is a great night out. They have some great live bands,Mother Popcorn being my fave,and a smoking area outside and a burger bar if u feel peckish. It does get very packed in there but it is well worth the hassle.You do have to pay to get in,but i think its only if you get there after 10pm,and after the live bands have finished there is a dance floor round the corner with great music to carry on bopping to!

Great live music most nights of the week, with an open mic night on a Tuesday where many local acts perform. Inexpensive drinks friendly atmosphere make it a top night out.

The royal has live music Friday and Saturday nights, there is a chill out area if you want to sit and chat and if the band isnt your cup of tea there is a disco in another room. Bands tend to be really good and bar staff are friendly. I like going to the Royal because they have a variety of different bands and I havent not enjoyed a night out there in the last two years of going there. The atmosphere in the place is great and there is a court yard ouside if it gets too hot!

I have been to see various live bands at the above on Saturday nights. They have two seperate rooms so if you don't want to be involved in the electric atmostphere of the band you don't need to, but thats what I am there for. It is only a couple of quid to get in and lasts to the early hours of the morning. The band is in a designated area and plenty of room around them. They make sure there are plenty of barstaff to serve you and bouncers are present just in case. The venue is always well attended and it is great that a town still offers this facility to its local communities

What a fab night out to see live bands! The Royal has a live band on ever friday and saturday night without fail and its free entry before 10.30pm!! I have also been on a sunday to see tribute bands (I saw oasis tribute) and it was quality! There is also a chill out lounge, beer garden with bbq and also a night club if you fancy a good old boogie.Its a brilliant night out

this place is superb with up and coming as well as established groups playing, the sound in the venue is fab. with welcoming door staff and management an all together great night out you have also got the choice of the chill out area and bar if the bands is not to your taste.

Why pay an annual membership on a healthclub or gym when your answer to keeping fit is in your back yard! Sutton Park is open 24 hours a day with acres and acres of land to stretch your legs and run off some steam. Get one with nature. You can even get your dog in on the fun too!

It's closed down!!

But I'm sure the homeless dwellers/rats love it. I reckon it now has a dark atmosphere.
